What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

My ABS light has been on for a while, essentially the ABS turned off. I wish it woulda never came with the damn "improved" brakes

 

I didn't have a good job until this past Wed! Maybe I'll get in on the next one

 

ABS does come in handy at times and has saved me a couple times on the highway... Haha

I know, I just haven't felt like doing it.

 

Have you done any mods to your lights lately like L.E.D bulbs or something. I switched to those in my third brake light and it made mine come on and disabled the abs. Code for open circuit. Switched bulbs back out and it went off and everything is good.

 

Yeah I switched out the 3rd brake light bulbs to LEDs, but the ABS light didn't come on until a while after (month or two)

I'll pull those and see if that fixes it... ah that means I have to pull the canopy back

Mod what pin? I no haz automatic tranny

Deleted the sway bar and wired up my Hella lights. Test drove it. Feels much better without the sway bar.....

Extended Kings with 700lb springs. Feels much better withoit sway bar. Was really stiff before

With the sway bar? Still be on the stiffer side. Its what the Sway bar does..

 

Yep with the bumper sliders and soon to be installed winch and 3/16 full sids the 700s will not be so stiff.

 

Oh. Nah not really. Once you add a ton of weight then yes a bit. But the shock valving will also come into play with a lot of weight.

 

if your gonna have skids, bumper and winch. Id just go 650. Id talk to King about it when you rebuild them for valving. They will be MUCH more helpful on the subject then i can.

 

King suggested 700 springs due to bumper sliders winch and skids...

 

yea i believe. Im going 700lb coils next too. less precompression is needed to retain a good ride height..thus..smoother ride.

 

I really like the way that one turned out. It's always fun for me to build a combo that I've never done before.

 

I took it off road last weekend to test them out. It was nice Very plush. I am sure it will be better now without the sway bar...

 

your mind will be blown. You'll ask yourself why the hell did i wait so long to do this. SO much better offroad.
