Good luck with the house....hopefully another NH resident soon...;)

On another note, I have actively started the "search" process for work in FT.Myers  and with promising leads we may be out before my December 20 deadline :)....

And this will be the permanent view from the back yard !!! Hopefully with the grandaughter visiting so I can update that photo... Caloosahatchee River as a fishing hole...

Mike, on your pedal post-chop how long is it top to bottom? I'm curious if mine was ever done on my truck

Toyota really pissed me off when they chopped the pedal. I had my husky liners by then so there was no way it was getting hooked... They took a decent amount off of the pedal too!

You must be doing something wrong. You were supposed to be upside down and sideways all at once while you were practicing not 9 months later! :D

Well, good news is that the weather should cooperate, so tomorrow we begin installation of three dog house dormers.

... Someone show up and push me off the roof so I can enjoy a week of leave. o_O

What are you planning on using to seal the seams with? And are you re-shingling the whole roof, or just around the dormers? I'm just curious because we're considering adding a dormer to our addition for some extra light. We're still debating between skylights and dormers. I like the idea of skylights for the extra light, but like the idea of a Dormer for an opening window.

If you cut out the existing roof properly (and with care and planning) you can tie into the existing shingles without re-doing the whole roof. Grace Ice and Water shield (bitch-ethane) will be liberally applied where the roof lines intersect, as well as along the existing roof and the dormer side walls, and then along the front. Step flashing will be applied along the dormer walls and the existing roof line and tie into the existing shingles, with proper reveal and overlap. Solid flashing will be used along the existing roofline and the dormer roofline to create that nice clean channel for runoff. All said and done it's more work than a skylight, but technically easier to properly flash and weather seal IMO. Plus, we need the additional head room of a dormer.

Just an FYI, skylights do open for ventilation.

I'll take some pictures and document as much as I can for you.
