I think I'm going to go with the pc68lt. What antenna and accessories do I need.

No. You won't like the fj in the long run.

    Go for it.

Firestik is a good choice. Get a NICE sheilded wire. You'll also need a mount depending on where you want the antena. Also idk where your planning on putting this cb. It's pretty big..

Wire the cb power and ground directly to the battery.

Yea..but you can't see out the back. And the RTT would suck on the roof. Inside is cramped actually.

I don't think any taco owner would like that switch.

my colonel had an FJ in korea and it was awkward. they look cool, but they're just wonky. the 4 runners on the other had are awesome, plus, i'f i'm not mistaken, there is a "compartment" behind the glove box that will fit a 1911.

Yea! I was letting the fj grow on me because I could keep my wheels and I think some of my suspension. Only reason I ditched that idea was because someone pointed out the fact that they have flip flop doors or whatever the hell it's called, and I (aka girlfriend and future children) would destroy it. It's also likely toast after '14, been said for years by Toyota but someone mentioned the fleet side suggests this, and they're really pushing the 4runner hard as the ultimate outdoorsydude whip, possibly confirming this notion.

Then toyed around with double cab tacoma with v6, and still think about it a couple dozen times a day. Just pull all my parts, sell camper shell due to incompatibility, and have a lifted brand new truck on wheels the day after purchase. Tempting, but Tacoma is long overdue for an overhaul and I'm pretty sure it has to be '15 like everyone says... so buying a '14 right before a suspected and well deserved engine upgrade and likely interior upgrade is a terrible choice.

Then you have the 4runner, improved interior for '14 and face lift. I'd doubt they'd do anything crazy for another 3 years so that's more stable than tacoma. Went from 11 on Cars.com yesterday to almost 50 today... so they're here, and there's even a freakin' 2014 Trail base for $35k, over $2k under MSRP unlike everything yesterday being 2+k over. We could have even more off-road capable rigs that perform better on the road with 111 more horsepower and 98 more ftlbs tq, while achieving identical or better fuel economy! Get a better rack than factory and swap RTT, sacrifice wheels (seems like that's standard since nothing new can accommodate 16" wheels, wtf)... let's do this!

Anyway, I can't see shit out of the back anyway so the FJ would actually be an improvement with blind spot mirrors. I thought the same as you, super charge..or regear.. something/anything to get some much needed power, and I landed at: sell the truck. Get an adequately powered vehicle with more room for whatever the future may hold. Just making payments on a truck now that drives me nuts daily and would never work in the future unless I get a cheapo safe accord as a second vehicle. See you on the dark side!

If you're going for offroad performance locker and gears all the way. Supercharger will be nice but nothing like throwing the locker on. If tacos didn't have such easy to break as FUCK IFS then id get this new diff hooked up with an ARB locker as well. Butttt thats screaming for way too breaks down the road.

Just Differentials did a 20 mile drain and refill for their "break-in" oil, 80w140 I believe. They then recommended a 500 mile change of the dinosaur 75w90 they put in after the first break-in change which I did. At that point I put in Redline synthetic 75w90. It may have been overkill but I changed the rear diff fluid again at 15,000, right before the epic.

When I put my gears in, I used SuperTech 75W90 synthetic. At 1000 miles I swapped it out for the same stuff. Now at about 12,000 miles I am going to throw in some Redline 75W90 Synthetic. Hopefully this weekend.

Im talking broken CVs and whatnot. Idk I just haven't had good luck with mine. In my eyes, IFS has more moving parts which is more chances of failure versus solid axles.

How are you breaking CV's so often? The only people I know of that break them regularly on a 1st gen are on 35's and up with a front locker.

I do the speed limit which is 65 around here. I had a 2012 DCSB auto tranny and got the same in town gas mileage and got 20+ on the highway. I always shift at 2000 RPM's. I don't make much money and I push my gas tank to the limit.

Oh haha when would you get em? Be better to do it with the tires as they are all a bit different. But we could trim the fenders and do the cab mount chop. I wouldn't tub unless we have the tires and know it's needed

Well at this rate. S far I think it'll be a week of me working on mikes rig. He might not bring the RTT so if I do a little trip it'll be the last week I'm home.

I'd work on your like the 27-29th.

But you me and Marc and who ever else can do something if mike chooses to not bring the tent.
