So went to KCMO with A3umph (Steve), and he showed me some pretty cool parts of the city...

First was lunch at Rosedale BBQ.

I made it to York, NE that night and in my drive to SD, I decided to go off of I80 and see what I could find:

Loving the pics, and very relieved to see that you've not needed a first-aid kit this time around. ;)
    Safe travels, my friend!
    Hi Layla!

P.S. Why is it that Amarillo was carved out of the agenda? Humph!

I have my first aid kit :anonymous:....

I was going to try to squeeze it in on the back end, but I had a pretty strict deadline for the first few days. It's loosened up a lot now.

And I think the only way my trip could compare to Hattie's is if I do make it all the way up to Alaksa....

In a round about way i decided to go see some friends in southern Alberta Canada, next think i knew, i was on my way to alaska. Built out the back of the truck with a shell, and had a yakima box up top, slept in my camper shell every night except for 2 nights. I used showers at campgrounds and had all y camping gear, every now and again would find a laundry to get some clean clothes. Was a great experience and cant wait to do it again. Really want a sportsmobile camper to do it in next time.
    Enjoy.

Geez, makes me wish I had more upscale camping gear instead of my military issued, repurposed stuff.

I allotted myself 30 minutes.... Yeah, I was there just staring for about and hour and some change.

If you end near Long beach, you are welcome to crash out, catch a shower and home cooked meal. Just let me know.
I as well would suggest a trip into Baja for a few days if you have never been.

Dude, it's great road trip once you get off the interstates and us the state highways. there are a lot of awesome stops in the back roads, just make sure you have a spare gas can. It's amazing the diversity of my last 4 days from the surf and flip flops in Galveston to the red dirt in OKC to the plains in the middle bits of the country and now I'm headed to the mountains and snows.
