If it's the same one on the 2013's, I am quite impressed with the sound and quality.

    Really?

I think my non entune (non JBL) is the worse sounding factory stereo I have ever heard.

Okay, now I'm confused - I thought I had stock er non JBL but I ordered the TRD Off Road package (Options: TRD Off-Road Package - $4,145) that apparently comes with Entune. I'll check my window sticker tonight...

Edit: Apparently I DON'T have the Entune JBL system but I still think it sounds great. My Maxima GLE (now my daughters car) and my wife's Tahoe LTZ both have Bose systems, and whatever is in my Tacoma sounds every bit as good as those.

The description for the '14 stereo says "split-screen display"...my '13 didn't say that. I'm curious as to what that means. And from what I hear the text feature actually works on the '14 model. The '13 has it but, it doesn't do anything. Hoping a firmware update for the '13's are coming soon to address the lack of functionality.

And as I understand it, there are 4 different Entune packages, but all TRD models include the base Entune (no nav/JBL/etc). Even SR packages can get it by what I saw on Toyota's site. And that being said, it should be no different than the base touchscreen in 2013's I'd imagine.

At the recommendation of the local audio shops, they told me to change out the front tweeters. Amazing difference after the change. So much more clarity. Head unit is perfect fine for me ('13). Non-entune

It looks like the 14 stereos all have XM radio? Im pretty choked at toyota for ditching it on the 2013's

I replaced them with Hertz tweeters at the recommendation of the shop. For $100 installed, they make a huge difference.

Well that's what the radio looks like not my exact one

But they sell a harness that moved the camera To the headunit
(Installed one in a local Tw members truck this past weekend)

In the 2012s if you have the Entune/JBL radio, the back up cam displays on the radio.....doesn't have the grid lines though. I'm jealous of the grid lines!

Yep....drives me nuts. I only use the camera to make sure I don't back into stuff...it's worthless for trying to line the truck up.
