    No. For a little bit of ride quality I only have it set at 2.5". I'm fine with what I have right now. I was simply posting information on progress.

    I like ATE Blue. But quite honestly for our trucks 99% here would be fine with vatozone brake fluid. Just make sure to change it when it's not amber anymore.

    Stock 1st gen rims (all of them) are 4.5" basically..actually metric so it's like a tad bigger..

    2nd gens are 5.5"

    When comparing a stock 7" wide rim to an aftermarket 8" wide rim, using backspacing numbers can become very confusing. Using offset numbers instead of backspacing numbers has way more meaning for comparisons like this.

    For example, the stock 1st gen 16x7 alloy wheels have +15 millimeters of offset. And an 8" wide aftermarket wheel with 4.5" of B.S. is 0 mm of offset. The same 8" rim with 4" of BS is -6 mm of offset.

    This means there is a 21 mm (+15 to -6) difference in offset between to two rims. For comparison sake, one inch is equal to 25.4 mm. So a little less than 1" difference between the two. The tire mounted on the aftermarket rim is 21 mm further out, away from the frame.

    If you add a 1.25" (~32 mm) wheel spacer to the stock wheel, this moves the wheel about 11 mm further out than the aftermarket setup. A little less than 1/2 an inch further.

    If all you are worried about is how the inboard side of the tire sits relative to the frame, backspacing is the more straightforward number to care about. A 7" rim with 4.5" BS and an 8" rim with 4.5" BS will have the inboard bead of the tire sitting at the same distance from the frame.

    I'm not sure how you're getting your numbers. Offset is the measure of the mounting flange from the centerline. An 8" wide rim with 0 offset should have 4" BS since the mounting flange is right on the centerline. I may be misunderstanding the definition of centerline and offset.

    Yea but a 7" rim also plus a tire in more then an 8" rim. So a 8" rim or 10" will cause more likelihood of rubbing with the same tire.

    I suggested using offset numbers in this situation because they were comparing different width rims. Backspacing numbers are dependent on rim width.

    Backspacing of 4.5" on an 8" rim is not the same as 4.5" of backspacing on a 7" rim. Offset and backspacing are not measured from the same place on a rim.

    This can all be quite confusing. This link does a pretty good job of explaning the difference between offset and backspacing and explains it a lot better than me.

    Backspace seems more straightforward when worrying about the placement of the inboard bead. From your link:

    4.5" BS is the same regardless of the width of the rim. You have 4.5" from the mounting side of the mounting flange to the inside edge of the rim (as it were bolted to the axle). Unless there is some curvature of space I'm not accounting for. ;)

    The offset of a 7" rim with 4.5" BS is different than the offset of a 8" rim with 4.5" backspace. That I do understand. This is due to the fact that the centerline is a different distance from the tire mount point.

    Edit: and it goes the other way too. A 7" rim with 0mm offset doesn't have the same BS as an 8" rim with the same offset.
