I've heard of people doing that with diesel too, making their own biodiesel. Thought maybe you just bought it all wholesale and blended it yourself or something

 

If I had a 4BT I would be refining my own biodiesel. ISU has a lab that does it for the buses. Not too complicated on a small scale.

 

I'm not an alchemist or anything. I really have no discernible skills.

Take some sandpaper to the soles. You don't need to grind into them, just put some traction lines on 'em. I had the same problem with my dress shoes. 10 seconds with some 60 grit sandpaper cured it.
