So a few weeks back my husky was jumping around in the truck and somehow managed to break my center console latch causing it to remain open until I either replaced it or fixed it.

Well, after some research I learned that you can't just order the latch and I'm definitely not spending the money for a new center console so fixing it became my only option (salvage yards didn't have any tacos).

Went to Lowe's and bought a 3.5in safety hasp for $3.94 + military discount and used a random TSA lock I found at home to secure the console cover down. Whole process took no time at all. Not only did I fix my latch issue but I've also managed to secure all my goods inside for less than $4. That's a win in my book.

All that's left is to get a bigger lock that fits better so it's not clanking around the entire time I'm driving.

Such a prominent lock may in fact attract thieves.

Then to go inside to find that there was no pot of gold after all. It's empty.

You should have a dudly combo lock on it. It's a harder combo to break.

I'm thinking the op just played a good joke on us and that lock is not actually installed.

Personally I'd prefer not having my console or glove box locked at all.

I would prefer someone that is robbing my truck to open up the lid, be pissed off there is nothing good in there and walk away with a bottle of cologne than smash my console into pieces trying to see what's inside.
