I can imagine. If I was able to get off work I'd have gone with.

Copy that on the gas can.

Are you going to head to Montana? I've always wanted to drive through that state...

:D Already arranging some offroading there. :D

and on that note, its nothing fancy, just playing on some backroads - pay attention for the deer and lack of no trespassing signs or markings.

I can see that... Guess I gave good travel advice for once haha. You look to have explored the badlands way more than I ever have, we just drove the loop once to say we've seen them. There's old missile silos you can see from I-90 too (a lot of those random barbed wire enclosures out in the middle of fields that have hay bales in them now were missile silos, I've been told)

Glad you're having fun, I'll keep following your trip to save myself from doing the same :)

There's one right on the interstate, I used to know the exit number but it escapes me now. I pulled off there to pee one day and looked up to see a big sign that said " NUCLEAR MISSILE SILO 1/4 MILE ---> "

I had to check it out haha

And this is how I started my day:

From this beautiful place and 34 degree weather, I pointed north and prepared for more awesome road:

    until...

    DSC06988_c129e3ef792f527eee2a2006ba359f1ee20ff961.jpg

This is where the temp dropped to 28 degrees and the snow/dirt/grit mix ruined my view.

Then the sun set and I ended up in Cody, Wy after foolishly driving through Shoshone National Park thinking that there would be lodging and such available closer than the 50 mile drive from Cody.... Wrong. So I got a nice Chupacabra hunt in before I turned around and came back to get a hotel.

Oh absolutely! You know it's gonna be a fun place when the signs read "Offroad Vehicles Welcome" instead of "No vehicles allowed"!

Do it while you can. You never know when they'll be gone forever or shutdown again! Gas mileage is kinda variable. Being in the cold mountain air, and after almost 2 hours of 4wd wheeling and diving through mountains and hills, I'm sitting at 310 miles and my low fuel light isn't on yet. Moral of the story is have a light foot and don't put excessively wide tires and you'll maintain pretty decent gas mileage, even when the speed limit averages 65-75 mph.

Any ways. its good to see after being deployed you can enjoy the open roads im glad your enjoying your trip and ill be following the entire time so keep posting those pics and stay away from those "attractive" crack heads. To bad you wont be coming near Albuquerque, NM got a lot of members there.

So how's the not skipping songs going? I couldn't handle that, and I believe I'd had to delete the old ex gf reminder songs, course that's hard to do sometimes.

Glad you're getting to do an epic road trip after deployment, there's nothing like hitting the open road after being over in the sand box.
