Just installed today, reset the ECU.. . There is more torque, how much more it's hard to say. The truck runs down the highway 75-80 MPH with much less strain and climbed the Ambassador Bridge in 5th converter locked no problem.

The engine note is smoother, but that was never a complaint.
The 1GR already produces more torque than the VQ. I towed a 5000 lbs car/trailer with a 2012 Frontier 4.0 (rental) from Virginia to Michigan and although it did fine, that 4.0 loved to rev, where Toyota's V6 likes staying below 2500RPM..

I am running bone stock, 265/75/16 tires, cap with some tools so I'm 400-500 lbs constantly over-weight..

after 200 miles I will tow the same trailer/car to OH, it's mostly flat but there are couple big hills on the way...

    I don't have one, but I'm 90% positive you shouldn't have a problem.

Additionally my truck can still squeal tires with a bed rack, RTT, loaded truck box and bed slide. :D

After a 240 mile work trip (returning with a 5.0 V12/trans in the bed), I'm happy to report that the spacer did make a good chunk of low end torque. The 1GR has awaken and smoothed out a bit.. throttle response also benefited naturally.. I've had two different CAIs that mostly made noise before re-installing stock stuff. This is a very good mod, it should go well with my yet to be installed shorty headers, y-pipe, and MAF box.. More twist without the stupid noise...

Just got the spacer installed. It was late and dark... forgot to put a hose back and the engine was bogging.. zzz lol. All is okay now.

Initial observations: Definitely more torque and throttle response. It feels as if you can accelerate faster in higher gears on the highway. I've noticed an increase in instantaneous MPG ~2-3. I will update the post at the end of this week and next week to see how well it does in MPG as I drive almost 300 miles every week.

side note: I have a ~200lb camper shell, and I am running more aggressive tires with wheel spacers and a 2.5" lift.

I am very pleased with my purchase, thanks again Grey. I was so relieved that you provided hex cap bolts, getting the Allen head bolts out was a pain in the ass lol.

Tempting. Might have to run down there and pick one up. Do you keep a stock of them for local pickup?

White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
This will be a good comparison once the headers, y pipe and MAF are installed.

I have had new headers and a set of cats waiting install for a while. Already have a MAF and spaced intake. Considering selling my DTST headers and the cats to go with the new long tubes from URD and would like an APR y pipe. Curious to hear your feedback once you finish the build.
