Brake DIY (short version)

ok so I finished installing new rotors, pads and stainless steel lines.
I didnt see any writeup so here's a small one..
brakes feel a bit firmer, the click I had is gone (improper pad installation before me) and the vibrations in the steering wheel I was having at 55+ are almost gone. Install went real smooth except for the brake line brackets, they needed to be filed down a little to fit the new lines in.

I took the time to paint my calipers with that G2 stuff. I removed them, cleaned and taped off the parts I did not want paint.Do not get paint in the areas where the pads slide, it will suck. Let them dry a few hours and then reinstalled.
The old rotors were "pressed" on, just needed a few taps with a BFRM (big friggin rubber mallet).
The new pads were bought from wheelers off road and the packaging stated the anti squeal shim was already on the pad, I believe this is true as I did not reuse the stock brake shim and I have not had any squeal or noise.
Cleaned the new rotors of any packing grease/oil/protection, even in the fins..that stuff will burn off and stink. Put them on and had to tighten a few lugs to get it sitting properly and to kinda press it on the hub.
I then removed those lugs holding the rotor so I could install the wheels.

wheels on, bleed the brakes, test drive....

I am convinced any idiot at a shop with an impact wrench needs to stay the hell away from my truck. Even just changing a tire they will mess up your ride. I can not say this enuff, Properly torque your lugnuts.. do not hit it with an air wrench and think its ok. These trucks are picky with that and like to give vibrations thru the steering wheel. The last 2 times I went to a tire shop for balance/rotation they over torqued my lugnuts and I developed a vibration. I torque them myself and its fine. and suppedly improper torqe can warp your rotors. anyways, Im ranting lol..

I firmly believe in SS lines. I had them on previous vehicles.
