Here's a lil fun fact

 

Check this out, ref was pulling the flag before the "targeting" hit was even made.

The ejection in the USC game was more BS than that. The receiver ducked his head into the defenders helmet and then he got ejected for targeting

 

Well it wasn't 40 but I'll take 37 great win for us next nc state

 

I bet he was gonna call a penalty regardless. Probably would have called roughing the passer even if he didn't "hit his head"

Not sayin that would have been the right call just speculation on his thought process

 

and the 2nd targeting call on a clean 4th down stop that was overturned, but still gave them a 1st down because of the most retarded rule in football

 

Drew (the one that got penalized) was actually held during the play, they even say it during the commentary.

 

Targeting is the stupidest rule just let the kids play football

Those ejections are getting pretty common I think there were three or four yesterday

 

I know I'll get flamed for this and people are saying but you muffed punts and such that cost the game but I don't like these calls, not just because of our game, just in general so here goes.

Problem with it is once the flag is thrown they can over turn the targeting part in replay but not the penalty. I think the refs feel obligated to call something after throwing the flag. Why can't they say ok the booth looked at it and didn't see targeting so no foul? In our game there was 2 called, neither of which looked to even be a penalty. They held up the call on Ray Drew and he was ejected. If anything it was a late hit, that's all. The other changed the momentum of the game. We made a stop on a 4th down and it changed the whole momentum of the game. I've been trying to find a clip of it to post. It was a clean hit that knocked the ball loose on a pass. He lead with his shoulder and laid a nice hard clean hit. Even the announcers said it looked clean to them. Everybody is making a bigger deal over the Drew call since he was ejected, but to me this one was the bigger deal. They overturned the targeting but still gave an unnecessary roughness call.

I just don't like where the game is headed. I don't like the refs having so much control in the outcome of games. Might as well play flag football.

For what it's worth I also read this morning that the Drew call was made by a UF alumni. Go figure.

Jordan Jenkins said after the gsme that the rule is goin to ruin the game. Richt said he told himself he wasn't gonna comment on terrible officiating or somethin like that. Guess he didn't want to get fined but still got a little backhand in there... .
