I was a bit curious, so I did some rough calcs (I am an engineer, sorry) It looks like about 2% (120 out of 5300) of our total members are responsible for about 88% of our posts (66,000 posts out of 75000 total posts)

This seems a bit odd. Does anyone know of a way to get some of these slackers to posting?

I guess the alternative, is that we put a daily post limit for the Carolina Alliance.

Funny thing is I belong to a few forums, and this always seems to be the case. You'll have a ton of members, but only a small percentage of that will the "regulars". I think we should have a max post count on folks with automatic trannys :D

Only 2% of the people make 88% of the posts. Hmmm. I wonder what percentage of those 66,000 posts are actually meaningful and how much is just banter (maybe 2%). :D

I said in a previous thread that it seems alot of the members are inactive. Some members log on and look but don't post. And some members will post in every thread. I don't post a whole lot, but I'm logged on pretty much all the time. I will usually go to the home page and see what members are online. I guess what I'm trying to say, is alot of people might not feel comfortable posting or they just want to lurk. No real harm done. If that makes any sense. I'm on my third drink so forgive me.

personally i find almost 100% of it useful. if its not useful for my truck then its at least useful from keeping me from stapling myself to death at work out of boredom

i guess some of the new members are kind of afraid someone call them names for asking or posting (i felt like this too) so they just wait around for someone to ask the same question they have, just a thought

Well I think new members need to grow a pair. i was a new member here, and I just jumped right in. As long as you use the search function to try to find an answer to your question, you should not worry about getting beat up.

I browse the topics on TW at least twice a day just to see what's going on. However, this is only my 21st post... I guess you could call me a lurker. As member 2749, there's over 400 members with more posts. NDcouch takes the cake though.... at the time I looked (may be more by now) he had 3907 posts over 387 days. That's 10 posts a day! Nice work! I need to get a pair and start posted about everything I can think of.

Maybe TW could add a "Mission Statement" :puke: Something along the lines of, "Tacoma World:there is no question more stupid than ndcouch, so ask away"

you are right phantom.....i mis worded(if that is a word:D).....i should have said....."no one should have to worry about that here":)

and the post you mention kinda pissed me off(although i didnt say anything), when the guy could have said something like "he is misinformed about the stock tire size"......no reason for anyone to be an asshole or come off as an asshole for a post someone made(unless it is off topic and people know its in a joking manner)!

The attitude in that thread got off the hook too quickly. Some people are just a tad to serious/defensive.
