Yeah buddy  it's gonna be good once i can get home from college this summer and start wrenching on it.

Any suggestions on what i should do? i was thinking of getting it all looked over and seeing what needs to be replaced and go from there.

Depending what shape it is in. Engine And general maintenance is pretty easy on these yotas with the right tools. They are pretty easy to build on a budget as well.

Restored to stock with mild mods. That bodystyle is my favorite. Those trucks are like hen's teeth here in Michigan. I was at an ORP a couple months ago for an event and a guy had an '82 in beautiful shape and he said he was getting a lot of compliments on it even from J**p guys. I took as many pics of that truck as I did everything else put together!

I personally hate seeing 1st gens being hacked. They are few and far here in MI and I would love to have one to restore.

That is super clean. I would keep it the way it is. Mine was already pretty mangled when I started on it.

Ya I mean I wouldn't go haywire on it like you did yours but I wish he would at least change the rims and do something to make it look official :notsure:

My first old school Toyota was a '77 Celica fastback bought in 1991. Drove it for 4 years as a daily driver before buying a '76 FJ40 for a change of pace in '95. Sold the Celica to buy cruiser parts but wish I would have kept it. The 40 is very reliable vehicle and wheels great. Still have it and will pass it down to my kids someday. Needed a truck back in '02 and bought a '99 Tacoma which has been my daily driver for nearly 12 years now. The Taco is also very capable and has given me few problems over the years. These purchases were some of the best decisions I ever made. Toyota forever!
