If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I think the issue is they (ARB) developed these prior to the Tacoma making DTRLs standard. They intended it to be intermittent as signal light (not DTRLs) so having constant power causes them to overheat/overload and they shut off. Not 100% sure, that's just my theory and what I read on Exp.Portal somewhat corroborated that.

Again, it's not a huge issue - it's not gonna burn up the wiring and it hasn't popped any fuses, but it IS annoying to have my DTRLs and ARB lights randomly turn off. I've only seen it on one side at a time, and it just started yesterday. Again, using the turn signals/hazards, or turning the headlights ON then OFF makes them light up like normal.

The issue is truly intermittent, and I haven't found the specific scenario that causes it.

I have the Parking Lights wired-up to the ARB as well, so the Parking Lights are on both the truck and ARB simultaneously. There is no issue with those.

However, I think I resolved the issue on my lunch break today. I went O'Reilly's to find some lower wattage bulbs, and picked the manager's brain. He suggested an LED retro (which I would prefer, but I am cheap and easy like a small-town slut).

I picked up a set of 8w bulbs to replace the 21w signal bulbs ARB uses. The manager said it wouldn't work and would drop the amperage too low to power the lights, and would cause a "fast flashing" signal. Much to his surprise, I installed them in the parking lot and they worked fine. Signals work fine, they are bright enough, and they haven't turned off yet. So far so good.

Day 2: Indicator light and DTRLs are still working fine. 8w bulbs FTW!!!

the ARB or the hidden winch? I have to admit I was sad to take the hidden winch mount off, but I am loving the ARB so far. Much more clearance up front, and a much better approach angle.

I was hoping to sweet talk you out of the hidden hitch mount. I not maybe I can borrow it to get some measurements before it is installed.

Gotcha, I'll send you a PM with some helpful advice/info.

It would be kind of hard to "borrow", being as we're on opposite sides of the country :p

Figured as much. No love for the ARB :pout:

Can you post a pic straight back the side of your truck to show if/how much your tires poke out from the fenders?
