Has anyone else notice on rougher roads exp. like rock roads that the pass. side seat shakes really hard. I checked the bolts in the floor hoping they were loose being that they had to be removed to do the leather upgrade recently, but no such luck. It shakes enough that Id think it would eventually fail, like seat brackets crack and break. Just curious if other have noticed, it's min. on nice smooth roads, and obviously none when I have a passenger. I did a search and didn't come up with anything. Thanks

My 11 did it, my 12 does it. Dealer won't do anything about it, I was going to manufacture some kind of washer shim thing of some sort to remedy it but I haven't had the time.
I'm gonna give this a shot.

Other members on the board have had this same issue. There hasn't really been a fix to when it comes to it. Yeah! The dealer has no fix and they won't fix it even if they could.

Thanks guys for the feed back. Crap lol. It shakes enough that I've changed my mind on having dual dvd players in the front seat head rests. Like another mentioned when it gets to doing it real bad the head rest vibrates and shakes enough I just know it would skip and give problems. Im not paying 1500+ bucks to have it done when I can for see it for sure being an issue. I'm stuck not being able to recline it back any more or scoot the seat back more also. I have boy/girl twins in car seats [7 years old] that need the room that I can give them now. Wished I had a few more inches for them as it is. I'm only 6' tall and compromise the seat position a good bit to give them feet room hitting the seat backs. It's just in the top portion of the seat like it's mounted soft or in rubber rather than stout or ridged, if that makes since. The vibrating is very annoying.

My front passenger seat shakes on rough roads, dip, bumps etc. it is very annoying. My truck is less than one year old. It's just a mental thing not wanting to buy something brand-new and then have rattles and noises. Took it to my local dealer who told me that it was just the "condition" of the truck, how it was built, how they all are... therefore nothing was wrong. He tried to convince me that it was the same as other Tacomas but when I walked him around a lot it was easy to show him that other Tacoma passenger seats did not shake. I have an appointment to meet with the area Toyota rep in November to present my issue. I have always driven Toyotas or Lexus but this is my first truck. Disappointed this time with the lack of customer service.

My 2009 has done it sine day 1. Used to drive me crazy, but I guess I just got used to it.

My 07 did this and I was able to fix it. I had my seat passenger seat out when i was installing my stereo and was shaking it around and was able to find the culprit. Sorry no pics but on the right side of the seat underneath by where the sliders connect to the seat I found where there was a little play. A small rod looking thing would slightly jiggle and hit the side of the slider. I cut a piece of plastic tube about 1/2 inch long and about 1/8" inner diameter and slipped it over the rod which cushioned it and kept it snug against the slider.

this was back in 09 so I don't remember exactly, but take the seat out and jiggle it / recline whatever and try to pinpoint the rattle. Taking out the seat is very easy, there are only 4 bolts and a sensor harness that needs to be unclipped.
