    If by recommend you mean they dont say you can not. Like the do with mopeds.. then yes they recommend driving them on highways.

    Something interesting. ..

    Pound for pound a dodge 2500 mega cab 6.7 cummins 4x4 is more fuel efficient than a smat car.

    Roof strength is a relative measure. The Tacoma roof withstood 3 times the weight of the truck.

    I would bet it would perform rather poorly. It would miss the bumper (actual crash bar under the plastic) and the frame and bypass the crumple zone straight for the front suspension on that side. Basically you get a fender a floor and the a pillar.. of course I am thinking with a solid object. If it was with another car or truck and both were minor offset I think its entirely case by case. Tacoma doing well against practically anything smaller and both vehicles doing bad with a body on frame suv or truck.
