I'm not sure why you'd keep working out after you pucked? It doesn't make you a bad ass or anything and frankly it is disgusting to others in the gym.

That split looks weird bro... idk

also sounds like over training... after about an hour of straight lifting (not including breaks) your T levels are depleted and youre doing more harm than good....

    x2

I usually take about an hour+ just because of the tempo I got at

I understand AFTER a workout but if you're doing that much man... lay off a bit and listen to your body... its obviously hurting

not judging. you do you but damn... lol

I never really go past 225. But at that, I'm intermediate. Advanced on bench, though

Did a quick chest/tri today. Didn't even hit flat bench. I'll focus on that next chest day. Didn't get in til about 9:20 and didn't want to be in there long so all I did was

    Incline Dumbbell press: 3x10 @ 60, 70, 80 lbs
    Incline Cable Flies
Decline bench, 4 sets, stopped at 205.

    Pull downs: 3x10 at 120, 140, 150
Tricep Kickbacks: 3x10 (each arm) with 20 lb dumbbell
Weighted dips: 3x10 with a 45 lb plate

In and out in about an hour, but it felt good.

And, as the Hodgetwins say, Saw a lot of Horseshoe action in the triceps. Alllll Kiiiiiindz of horseshoe action.

Do any of you guys have videos of you squatting?

A lot of you guys have higher weight than me.

According to the chart I'm a novice....

I'm a very low gainer. Low genetic potential, so in order to make gains, it's volume, volume, volume. I'm generally out in about 1.5 hrs including a post workout stretch so still within an acceptable time frame.

I finished my set and went to the restroom and puked. Plus I belong to a small local gym and I know everyone that was working out with me at the time. No harm, no foul.

It was a compound chest exercise, followed by a pec isometric, then a lower body compound exercise, then biceps. I also have an imbalance in my quad strength so I needed to hit hams directly to make it up. I kinda makes sense in my head, and it works for me. I'm seeing pretty good results with the split plan I have now.

I took 3 days off (Fri, Sat, Sun) after 4 days on (Mon-Thurs) so I should have been fine hitting the gym with my usual routine. Nothings hurting, I'm any more sore than usual, actually less sore because the intensity was lower, I just had an upset stomach.

Considering 4 out of 5 people at the gym do half squats, I wouldn't let someone's "squat numbers" get you down. Just do full squats, and keep doing them, your numbers will grow.

I don't get how half squat is easier, seems like you are fighting with yourself to stop the squat then come up versus bouncing off your hips. i don't think i can do 475 if i half squatted. altho since my injury heaviest i've went without pain is 365

I figured you and Sean would be 'elite.' Y'all do legs like 4 times a week, don't you?

and that was the day the entire gym got sick...

I think the longest I've ever worked out is an hour, but usually it's around 45 mins...don't overdo it

According to the bench chart (http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/BenchStandards.html), I'm intermediate...Weighing 200, benching 270. You're advanced?! NICE! What do you weigh and what's your bench?

I'll be in the gym this afternoon and I'll try to take one. Don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to the wimp you used to be when you first started lifting...that's what I do. I was squatting 135 when I started and now I'm getting 315...but, there's guys at my gym that are squatting in the 500's, but I don't compare myself to them b/c they've been at it longer.

What do you mean by a 'low-gainer'? Like, a hard-gainer? If that's the case, you need to be spending as little time in the gym as possible. The harder it is for you to gain weight, the less you wanna do b/c you're burning more calories, which equals no gains. I'm a hard gainer and I can't even afford to do cardio (I know, what a shame :D ) b/c I'll burn too many calories and start losing weight.

Those standards are not a good thing... just because it says you're in an area doesnt mean you actually have to... nor train to be there. It just throws up numbers out there for people to hit.. people have different goals of losing weight, to gaining mass, to body building, to power lifting... not too sure if I agree with having a solid number telling me where I should be at.. my .02 :D

Happy Gainz Day my TW Lifters!

Everyone is stronger in the "lockout" range. I agree though, seems like that would hurt. Which is why I find it comical when people who do that half-rep/lockout range crap, and use the excuse that it's better for the joints.

Had a guy I knew from class always talking about how much he can lift. In the gym he'd do that 90* elbows on bench nonsense, and half squat like most. To each their own I guess. That's why I always tell people who are worried about their numbers to just do full form and they'll be ahead of 80% of the bros there.

The top reasons I think people don't do full ROM are:

    Fear of failing
    It's harder

    Same here

    Hot damn!

I was just looking for around what average I should be squatting, since I haven't done a heavy squat in about a year. I'm not shooting for anything, but more weight.

I hate seeing people doing halfway shit and bragging about how they're awesome. You're not benching 315 if you bring it down 3 inches!!!

nah I feel you man. I just hate seeing "gotta hit these numbers" I add on weight until I know what feels right, and to feed my ego with ego waffles ;)

But I always get the MMC or its not worth doing

I think most do it b/c you can "lift" more if you don't go all the way down. So people can walk around saying they bench 315 or whatever, but yet if they went all the way down, their number would be much lower, and then they wouldn't be cool.
Plus it's better for the joints

Squats for me are scary because of my knees... I got just above chair sit height, if that makes sense. Stupid knees
