Gotta be a scam. Too cheap, even if someone did a diesel conversion.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
It looks like typical Craig's scam, copy someone's listing to another city, change price to ridiculously low price, and always when they aren't rounded to nearest hundred, ex $2514.

It does have a phone number, which fake Craig's never have, so either they didn't remove from sellers add, or it's a possible real ad. Did you text the number and ask for pictures of the conversion. Also Cummings 4bt is a reasonable diesel conversion for these trucks, but he would want like $25140

You can get a diesel from a Hilux of the same year which would probably bolt right in. If you can find one already in the US that is. But the Hilux diesels have been produced oversees for years

Yeah, but JUST the motor would cost more than the guy's asking for the whole rig. Unless he missed a zero at the end.
And why would you use a Cummins 6AT 3.4 rather than, like you say, a standard Toyota diesel?

Im assuming people are using the Cummins because it is plentyful in the US whereas the Toyota 2.4 diesel is not

    TILLERS! holy shit he lives

And yeah motor does not exist. The price without labor to swap D4D into a 2nd gen is just shy of 10k without labor.... I'd say crackhead.

    Too many issues there.
The 6AT Cummins is an inline motor, not a V-style. I doubt it'd fit into the engine compartment because it'd be too long.
The Cummins wouldn't be a simple bolt-on to the transmission, either. Wrong parts; it'd be a square-peg-round-hole scenario.

And after they went to the time and expense of making themselves a custom Taco like that, there's no way they'd turn around and sell it for $2100.

    Scam.

Either that or they started the project, totally screwed it up and its a pile of parts. With no pictures this may very well be the case
