What did/would you pay for window tinting?

I have a price to do my fronts for $40/each ($80 total).

Seem about right? It comes with a "as long as you own the truck" warranty against peeling, bubbles, fading, etc.

I'm getting it done at 30% but he can do any %.




Anyone do their fronts themselves? How hard is it? Do they sell pre-cut tint for our windows?

I have done it on previous cars and only had trouble with the rear window of my Tauras (the curve was a bitch).

 

I got for just my 2 front windows $75.

at like 15%

 

the same % as the rear windows (Access Cab)

 

Mine were 80 for 20% on front 2 with a lifetime warranty.

 

i paid $175 for 15% all around. looks great but now I wish i went darker.

OK, so i'm getting a fair price. The only question then is how hard is it do myself?

Also, how expensive is the tint?

 

You dont want to do it yourself... trust me.

You have to be super patient and have tons of experience.


What do you mean? Well you have to get a heat gun, tint squegee, tint ($50 and a couple other small things.

 

had my fronts done same as rears (20%) for $75, guy came to my house to do it too. lifetime warrenty as well. great investment

 

I've never seen anybody use a heat gun to tint windows, maybe thats something new out. Yes, you can buy pre-cut tint on eBay. I've tinted a few windows and it really isn't that hard but professionals will be able to do it quicker because that's what they do for a living. Main thing to remember is don't roll down the windows for 24 hours afterwards (or, that used to be the time, maybe thats changed too).

i paid 250 for 20% all around. And I got my windshield done at 50%.

 

I paid 69.95 for the two front windows at I believe 35%. They only took like 30min. to put up.

What kind of company? A local shop you know? That is a really good price!

All %'s were quoted to me at the same price. It really wouldn't change the installation process.

I was thinking of getting 35% but decided a bit darker might be preferred. I'm going with 30%. Next step down is 22% (which is the same as the rear) and too dark for my taste. I need to be able to see at night without rolling down the window.

 

mine is dealer installed. i'm probably got ripped off.

 

Only got at 35% because they told me it was the legal % here in TX. I wanted it a bit darker but couldn't.
