Stop by my shop and I'll be happy to explain/show it to you. Would be a lot easier than writing a book on a forum. I have plenty of beer in the fridge.

Every manufacturer has some kind of problems. Some worse than others. The difference for me is how the manufacturer takes care of problems. Toyota has always been good to me, even fixing things that are no longer under warranty (which one time was close to $15,000.00).

The only other truck I was considering was an F-150 but decided the Tacoma was better for me and held a much better resale value. I also don't like the way Ford marks everthing up and then offers 10 different rebates you have to try to determine which ones you qualify for to determine a price. With all the Toyotas I have owned I have always paid invoice minus rebates. Done deal. I think this is another reason the Tacoma holds its value. You will never see one with $10 -$12,000 rebates like the Fords.

I would still consider buying a Ford. But going in I would understand the truck is going to have more issues than a Toyota, and the issues may or may not be addressed. I still have bad memories of many of my friends Fords shooting their spark plugs out only to have Ford look the other way and do nothing. I don't know if Ford ever did anything for their customers regarding this issue, but if they did it was probably because they were forced to. They should have addressed the problem early on and avoided all the negative PR.

Because its now paid for and soon everything will be new except for the transmission.

Speaking of transmissions One of my buddys just blew this weekend and left him and his girl stranded. Second friend I personally know to have a tranny fail. Both had under 80k on them.

And for the guys who want the other guys source ......:.......... It's staring you right in your mug.

No he is still talking out of his ass with his personal experience, not what is going on for the overall scale.

Just like this phony, bullshit percentage. Did you think majority of people would go online to voice there happiness and success with their vehicle? Just like restaurant/business reviews, most people go online to find solutions to problems or rant, just like you.

    How's this for facts?

I've spent more money replacing parts on my Tacoma in 5 years than the previous 15 years of owning Fords.

I would also assume that cost is thousands above the Fords. I would give you factual numbers but if I add up the Tacoma parts I'd probably start to cry + I don't really feel like taking hours to add it all up on a spreadsheet for the Taco.

The Fords are easy. I never ONCE paid for a single non-wear/non-typical maintenance item on any of my fords.......EVER.

    Lmao
Most people who have no experience with trucks or automotive will come onto forums, describing the problem and seeking for help. And seeing that Toyota's last for a very long time and many people have one, there will be a lot of people asking for help. But in reality, its a much lower % than you would think.
Still, Ford's break down more than any other manufacturer on the market.

    +1. exactly.

Yea right front end issue galore, electrical, spark plugs transmission rebuild, leaks, misfire yea right all these are just maintenance for f150s.

dodges are even worse my colleague has new ram and the differential fell off in the freeway she was sitting duck in a busy freeway. It's a design flaw they're missing a nut to hold it together at high speed yea it missing a nut alright

How's your nuts on your seatbelts? Rather loose a diff than die if I have an accident.

It's common knowledge. Just from living in SoCal lmao.
Fords always have a common problem and it effects one or a few types of models, and then will have a different type of problem thats common for another set of models.

And Ford's diesels are perfect and only require wear & tear items

or lose the diff and have it cause you to be involved in a possibly fatal accident?
    That wasn't a great counter.

I know you wheel your Taco, were you wheeling all of your previous Fords like that as well? Lets bring up your "who's had catastrophic engine damage" thread that quickly fell off the face of the forum.

Resale value probably still good, trade it in on a used Ford, will probably get money back. Then you can quit bitchin about all your problems.

I'm not a "fan boy" by no means, and not saying Tacomas don't have their issues. Just saying I've at one time or another have dealt with all of the major brand vehicles and they all had their own issues.

Get rid of your Tacoma if your not happy, otherwise STFU about it.

I raced my mustang every weekend. Took my explorer offroad but never as hard as my taco, but my explorer still runs and drove a decade and 200k later. My yota has been sitting a year starting at year 4/90k.

Yes let's bring it up. Only helps prove my point that Toyota isn't perfect. I haven't updated it because I haven't swapped it yet. New engine is in my shed.
