I am sure it will void the warranty of the wiring harness, but if I wanted to cut off the switch that comes with it, what type/version of replacement should i look for if I were ordering the switch from OTRATTW.com?

This is a damn good question right here. I was wondering the same thing as I was originally planning on cutting off the button and using one from OTRATTW.com also.

I figured a few people might be wondering the same thing. I wasn't sure what type of switch comes on the wiring harness, whether it has a lighted rocker or not. And with all of the options at OTRATTW, it starts to get confusing to someone like me that is far from an expert at wiring stuff.

I didn't use this exact wiring harness but one that is very similar. I cut the button switch off and wired a OTRATTW's switch. It is so much better; the button kept sticking on me.

This is the wiring harness switch from this GB. You can see it is a button switch with a light indicating when it is on/off.
    switch.jpg

This picture you can see that there are 3 wires that go to the switch (Black, red, yellow). OTRATTW sells switches that accommodate these wires.
    wires.jpg

This is the back of the OTRATTW switch that I used. You can see where the three wires would connect.
    switch diagram otrattw.jpg

You will want to look for a switch with these details.

    *SPST ON/OFF switch.
*Single light ON when switch is ON.
    (Usually upper only)

I bought the Zombie Light Rocker Contura V switch. V1D1BC0B -SPST OFF/ON (Red Upper LED Only)

Note: Using this wiring harness as intended will hard wire the light to your battery, meaning that the vehicle does not need to be turned on in order to turn on the light. (Doesn't mean that you can't wire that way though)

Disclaimer: I am new to the wiring game as well but just recently wired a LED light bar on my 4Runner.

Yes, a female deutsch connector is available for purchase.

This should be the right answer. The harness I carry is a relay with a built in fuse. The switch itself doesn't carry any power except for powering the LED indicator.

OK, last question i have about this...I hope. If splicing it up this way, does there need to be a ground wire attached anywhere outside of the harness?

Outside of the harness, no. There is a ground built into the harness and should be the only one you use.

In this picture you can see (3) sets of wire coming from the relay. (1) is the fuse line that connects to the battery. This one has a postive (with in-line fuse) and a negative wire. (2) is the thin line that you can see coming from the relay, if you look closely you will see that there is a red, yellow and black wire. This goes to the switch and those three wires are what you will connect to the new OTRATTW switch. (3) is the last thick wire set which is what connects to the light(s).

I grounded mine where the battery is grounded but you can connect it to the negative battery terminal. (Red is positive, black is negative)

What size is that to fit the Avid bar?

Also, dual/single style bars - the double produces less light but for a longer distance?

This isn't my picture, I found it on the internet. But it appears to be a 30", and that's what I'm buying. So I hope it fits... I'm sure I can make it fit...

Put me down for a 20" single row combo beam and a single light harness.

No problem. I've been lurking around :spy: cause I think I want to take out my 20" bar and put in a 30".

I think my reply was skipped....

does anyone know of a mount that would work with this light bar to put it in the lower valance of a 2013 Tacoma?

    Like this.

The light bar comes with a couple of brackets that would do the job. You would need to drill a couple of holes to mount them.

Is this something that you're looking for?

    http://www.socalsupertrucks.com/200...-bumper-mount-w-rigid-light.aspx#.UmiEYXm9LCQ

    http://www.rigidindustries.com/category-s/207.htm

It says for Rigid but I imagine any 30" bar would work.

Edit: I forgot this was combo group buy and didn't mean to step on any toes by linking to another bracket in this thread.
