In about 25 seconds one play I saw Kadri get high sticked, then he high sticked someone, then Lupul got mauled, then Kadri ran Hiller over. Nothing was called but then Perry gently directs someone into the corner and gets called. This is unreal

Kesselw the hat trick. Anyone wonder how many goals he would have got beside Crosby if they drafted him in 06 instead of Staal?

perhaps it will be a sad day, but I don't suspect I will miss it all that much. It's stock will likely hold more value in the form of over-dramatized stories from the past shared with the younger generations.

Fighting is supposed to serve as a means for the players to police themselves. Headshots are rampant. I am skeptical of the belief that fighting controls this. The only thing that will control it is stiffer penalties.

I enjoy a good scrap as much as the next guy, but for the most part the scraps are uneventful and just slow down the game.

I tell ya what's entertaining, the Jets Caps game last night absolutely 0 defense and what a shoot out, talk aboot on the edge of your seat!

 

Losing fighting would suck , but I wouldn't really miss the staged fights

 

No doubt. Holtby had a busy night. He musta stopped 4 or 5 beak-aways. The shootout was actually pretty good in that one. Usually it comes down to who finally scores, last night in came down to a miss.

Apparently the staged fights will be with the helmets on. Or perhaps the next move will be to remove each others helmet before the fight

Anyone read about/see the hit Dallas Stars Ryan Garbutt got suspended for? 5 games for 'charging'. Never-mind losing fighting, pretty soon were going to lose checking. As a Sharks fan, no one is ever going to accuse me of having a bias towards the Stars but that didn't even look like it deserved a penalty much less a 5 game suspension.
