just when I thought I was done spending money, I decided to check out the group buy by TRS. bad idea ..that was a trap

spoke to Andrew and recommended me the stage 3 mini H1 kit

I was surprised when he told me I wouldn't have to cut any part of the headlight housing/reflector with this kit.

I really want to get rid my of ebay HID that blinds people and go with the retrofit

ive installed (or should I say, connected) a bunch of HIDs but ive never done a retrofit. is it really that easy just like their youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O2486djbjk

if so I want to jump on this deal tonight when I get home

Why is TRS recommending the H1 now
Is always been the D2S for the 2012 +

Just take your time and be patient. Align light output before sealing and make sure you seal it very well. Remember do it right the first time.

I'm running the mini D2S and mines are still going strong.

My guess would be that they recommended the H1 retrofit because the OP is already running an eBay HID kit. Therefore, TRS recommended the H1 kit so he could use the bulbs/ballast he already has and only needs to order the projectors.

can't wait to be able to afford retrofitting mine.

I miss my retrofitted lights on my old car, now the girlfriend has nice lights

Be careful if you use this vid, some are different!

Some shrouds require installation before you mount the projector and always test it a crap load to make sure you have no sticking

I got the d2s for my truck the only problem i ran into was the ring to align the lights doesnt work for the 2012+ and I had to modify the ring.

I believe it's do to the release of the newer H1's. My understanding is that they seem to out perform the D2S now.

U have to grind down the ring to allow adjustments to the center right?
What did u use to mod the ring?

I tried modding the ring back when i worked on it few months ago, but i thought it looked ugly, so i filed down the notches on the reflector bowl instead lol

I just marked the ring in the middle with a sharpie, and kept filing each notches until the sharpie mark sits right at the middle of the vertical lines on the bowl.
    How did u center yours?

might be a dumb question so apologize in advance

can you take the headlight assembly off without taking the front bumper off?

just trying to see how much work I got ahead of me

Yes it is POSSIBLE, however with bumper removed, it is much easier, and u wont scratch the paint or headlights
