In this case, that driver, even though he had the right of way, would have been found at fault. The driver who ran the "pink" left turn did have legal control of the intersection.

I've been in court dozens of times when the judge has bitch slapped people who say "Well, the light was green, it was my turn, and we're taught that a green light means go!"
One judge actually said "It's not a fucking drag race."

Green light means "proceed when safe to do so"

The blue light is the RAT light.
It is so cops can write red light runners while waiting on the departing side of the intersection.

They used to use small red lights, but they were struck down for not being compliant with the MUTCD since red is a regulatory color. Some states still allow red.

It's a microsoft lifecam, $40 off of Amazon. It's definitely paid for itself in entertainment value.

Well, I've done my good deed for the day. The gentleman that was driving the Magnum stopped into our office building today on the off chance that someone had seen the accident. It turns out the driver of the Rover claimed he had a green light as well and the officer investigating sited a double fault. That means that each driver was in the wrong and each would have to pay for their own repairs/bills.

The Magnum driver was beside himself when I told him I had the whole thing on video and that he wasn't at fault. I let him watch the video on the security guards computer and gave him my business card so he can get ahold of me if he needs too.

He couldn't believe that I had it on video. I mean what are the chances that you go to a building on the corner of the intersection where you had an accident and find someone with a video proving you in the right?

I'm just glad he stopped by. :)
