I don't think it's Carl feeding them. The reason being, is that something/someone is drawing them in large numbers that suggest it is not coincidence. The feeding doesn't create all that much noise and it won't attract out of earshot - only those in close proximity of the wire. That is, unless the walkers have some sort of zombie radar that allows them to detect food at great distances...which I don't see the writers going that far overboard.

The way I figured it is the noise of the occupents milling around and Daryl revving his Hog is what is drawing the walkers in towards the prison, the rats are just concentrating them to one section of the fence and causing it to topple.

 

That sounds good. But ever notice how they are coming in groups and not really in singles?

 

Talk about groups of walkers , you guys see the preview of the next episode yet ?

I not sure if someone else posted this, but I'm sure that the medic is the one baiting the Zombies because he's the Governor's spy. He burnt the bodies so that he couldn't be identified. The flu was the perfect excuse to execute the few people that could identify him from the handful of survivors that were taken in after the Gov. flipped his lid.

Who the hell wants to leave the security of the prison after two days in a Zombie apocalypse? Someone who's job is to get to know the dynamics of the prison leadership and report back to an enemy leader.

 

I just had a thought about the medic , others earlier posted that in the comics he has PTSD , that would probably explain his reaction to the severed torso outside of the shopping mall and his trip to the glug glug section of the store

 

Interesting thought...I said the same thing about the medic being the one feeding and kinda got shotdown. But, I still think he is a rat bastard.

 

Yeah, kind of reminds me of season 2 where they overran Herschel's farm - which, IIRC, started because of that helicopter.

Now, I think something is leading the walkers toward the prison and its not them being fed or Darryl's bike because they are coming from too far out for that. Looks like it may be the Gov's handiwork.

Agreed. I know they said that Gov would be back this season on the first episode of The Talking Dead and he did use Zombies as a weapon when his group overran the perimeter fence... Darryl's motorcycle doesn't help but there is no way that it can be heard for miles.

There was a write up a few years back about the zombie mentality. They're drawn together by the noise of each other. That's how they get herds like the one in the preview and the one that found the group on the highway in Season 2.

So you think he burned Tyrese girlfriend because she was from Woodbury and he was too and used the flu as reasoning to do so?

 

I do. To hide his true identity.

 

But he's been in the prison with them for a couple weeks, if that was his motive he'd had done that right away one would think. Plus he'd have to burn up half of the prison's current occupents.

I think he is up to more than what we think...something isn't right about him and he seemed to be trying a little too hard earlier...

It's not a perfect theory but the one that makes sense to me. With all the old characters from last season and all the new ones they have already introduced this season there is no way that a minor character who will be around for 1 or 2 episodes would have burnt the bodies. We still have yet to meet Dr. S.

With the medic's potential to have PTSD I doubt he would do anything to create more memories that could trigger a reaction from him unless he has to. He could very easily be an unwilling spy for the Gov and the people who were burnt up asked him a question threatening his objective. Then again in the season teaser he was in the backseat of the charger when it was high-centered on walker bodies and he could die in the next episode proving me wrong.

 

This is what got me thinking he is a spy. The writers setup the dialogue discouraging him to chill because he had been there a few weeks. Which he scoffed at and kept pushing his desire to attend this excursion with Darryl. It's not as if they are short handed for supply runs. I just feel that the way the first episode was done and a brand new character got so much time in the season premier that there has to be more to come besides the medic becoming another ally. There needs to be some minor antagonists not that Merel is gone.
