The hilux we drove was a beast, 5.29 gears, torque for days. They are in the process of building 3 of the newest gen hilux's but they were not there today

I am working on some go-pro clips now, but probably wont post them for a day or two. they had some awesome vehicles, mostly Toyotas and a few land rovers. Our group was my Tacoma leading the pack, the 4 door 4cyl turbo diesel hilux, a land rover defender 90, and a 90s FJ80. They had a bunch of FJs including a one from Australia with a pickup bed, one on 35s with center front and rear air lockers, and a newer FJ cruiser that was beat to shit. all of their vehicles had OME suspension and superwinches so I fit right in :D
The company is pretty legit, they train special forces and navy seals. they do 5 day courses for them. they also do industrial training for company's, like guys working on powerlines. the recreational stuff is pretty awesome, they do expo trips, they send their vehicles overseas to places like Iceland and Africa and take customers on 2-4 week expo trips.
I learned a lot, from basic recovery stuff like how to safely use a hi-lift and basic winching techniques to some advanced wheeling techniques, even how to fix your tire when you pop the bead off using starting fluid and a lighter. I will no longer roll backwards when starting on a hill :D I put my clutch start cancel button to use for the first time on a failed hill climb exercise, awesome feature on my truck. Another part of the failed hill climb was going backwards down a hill with no brakes, relying on engine breaking. The instructor had me put on tire on the corner a 12" rock, I had to work the clutch with one foot, stay on the brake with one and roll my foot over to the gas without letting off the brake. sounds pretty easy but it took me like 5 trys before I started getting it perfect everytime, the deal was I couldn't roll back even a 1/4" inch. the last 4 hours of the class was just straight wheeling, deep V ditches, big ledges, a sick rock field hill climb. definitely the hardest I have wheeled my truck. I finally put my sliders to good use, ripped off my trailer harness, and put the front bumper in the mud on a steep 6' hole. it was a awesome day, I am more confident in my ability's offroad and my truck impressed me as well as the instructor. If I had the money to spend I would do the full 5 day course for sure.

Sounds fun. I've gotten better at wheeling with a stick, I also cheat by using 4-Lo though. I've tested the clutch start cancel once, but I haven't been stuck enough to use it. I imagine it takes a toll on the starter.

While it's always possible to have too much sun, the sun is a good thing for the psoriasis. Fries the little bastards pretty good actually and keeps them in check.

It's an auto-immune condition so there technically isn't anything to fry but regarding sun exposure--that is a fine balancing act since it has been shown both too much and too little sun can precipitate an attack

Perhaps I was being a little liberal..my wife always says that she wants to go in the sun and fry them off..and I agree about the balancing act

If we had 6 guys driving their own vehicles it would be $180 for a single day per person. A little pricey

I'm union too, but fuck, Wednesday night?

And the best thing for a hangover is Sprite, it breaks down the acetyldehydes in the alcohol. Usually you can kick a hangover in a solid trip to mcrondons.
