Idaho BS thread in the PNW

I had one of their amps when I was back in highschool. Got rid of it pretty quick. I'm running two Jensen's right now, which aren't great, but they are pretty good for a low end amp.

Seems like Rockford Fosgate had a decent punch sub that had a shallow depth. I think a few guys are running them on here.

 

I'll look into that. One more noob question, whats the hub to fender measurement for 3" on a second gen? I set my new CO's and now they have settled so I need to get them exact

 

this is true but wont solve the Valve seat issue

yeah a pain but if you have the right tools it goes quick.. just need a set of fealers a good caliper guage and the factory bucket tool.

Im running a 10" P2 right meow with a alpine amp loving it..

 

What are the dimensions for that?

 

Still searching, I don't know off the top of my head, but the one post I found said the shock should have about 1.5" of thread showing at 3" of lift.

 

should be around 24", IIRC

Looks like somewhere between 23"-23.5" is a 3" lift. The stock numbers vary a bit. haha

Yeah I need better coils for my new Icons. I have 2" of thread showing but I have 23ish" on both sides! Finally no more saggy coils!

 

Get some 14" 700lb kings. The normal Icons are 13" 650 lb springs. My 886's are 15.8" 656lb springs and they don't hold up to my weight very well anymore...

 

Yeah mine were done too, even though they arent supposed to sag. Yeah I am gonna get some new coils.

There is a mis conception about the thread on CO's, you cant exceed 2" of compression,

 

Are you sure? Looks like there is more than 2" of threads there... Maybe your Sway-aways were different than the Icons.

 

sure you can have more then 2''..just more preload..stiffer ride is what you'll get but you can do it..

 

I'm thinking about swapping my 14" 600lb fox coils for 650's so I have less preload.
that and Im going to be running my bumper soon, and im gonna have to take the coils off to ship the co's back to fox

with this much preload, im at 2" of lift....

 

Brady your thinking about it wrong......

you have to figure out what the spring is it for its zero on the measurement..... typically you dont want to compress the spring more than 2"

You could stuff a 12" shock in their if you wanted and you would have 2" of threads exposed already....



How I usually set my coilovers was take the sprung weight off, tighten the collar now until the spring now has zero play, NOW you mark your zero line, compress for their

 

I was under the impression that that zero line was pretty close to the collar being all the way up...

 

cody you have send them back, you could do it with hand tools and a hand spring compressor


Back your preload to zero while on the truck, remove the CO's, if you have play in the spring, which you wont from I remember with 14's, youll need a hand spring compressor or a bench mount, compressor the spring until it moves around, now you pull parts off the bottom and remove the spring from compression and pull from the bottom, about a 5 to 6 hour job with out a lift working a slow to medium pace

 

on a 14" yes, but the average spring is like 13....... my foxes come with 13" 650's to start

I guess you'd have to know what the spring is from icon

 

I dont know never measured it.. it's in a slot port box and take up one seat and i made it removable to incase i need the room.. sound is great though..
