Just wondering if the price for Amsoil is worth it compared to toyota fluids. I was going to replace my differential and transfer case with Amsoil but that stuff is pretty expensive. What weight should I use if I decide to go with it and how much do I need?

Also what do you all recommend for my transmission fluid? Any particular brand or just stay with Toyota OEM stuff? How much do I need?

    I have a 2009 4WD TRD

IIRC-The trans is a sealed unit- Just let it be and it'll be fine.

All the other stuff- I'm sure someone will have an opinion or two..

    getting there....
on the transmission, just stay with what they use at the dealer...the w/s type fluid.......semi-synthetic i think....maybe fully synthetic, not too sure, but nothing much out there that equals it yet i dont think.

as for the diffs........you'll need about 6 quarts all together..both diffs and transfer case...get 7 to be on the safe side.....amsoil is good stuff, but i use mobil1 cause i can get it locally.

if you have the limited slip diff, you will need the additive, if its an open diff...you dont need it. also, forgot to mention earlier.....75w90 is fine.

This. Definitely get 7 quarts. The diffs tend to hold a shade more than the specs say (i.e. my rear diff held 3.8Qts as opposed to the 3.5 listed in the OM) You'll use the extra.

I also run Mobil 1 because it's excellent quality and widely available.

Amsoil Severe Gear has additive already in it. We put it in our corvette with the LSD and it's been GREAT.

Double check it to make sure it meets Toyota specs though.
