I own both. Km2 > duratrac on and offroad. Duratracs only better in snow and deep sand imo.

I'm running 4.88's with my KM2's. I think it's awesome! Some people may think it is a bit to low geared for 33's but I plan on going bigger in the future.

I did it through ECGS and it cost me about $2250 for 4.88's installed in both diffs and an ARB added to the front diff (I have the factory E-locker in the rear). That includes them shipping the installed diffs to me and me shipping my old diffs back. That's been over a year ago now so prices may have gone up a little.

I should mention, I did a solid spacer for both as well as all new bearing for the front diff so that is almost $300 extra. Digiratus regeared his 1st gen to 4.88's and added an ARB up front and paid close to $3000. He dropped his off at a shop and picked it up with everything done though. I swapped the pre-assembled diffs myself.

Yeah it is... I wouldn't have done it if my rear diff wasn't going already for the 2nd time... Toyota's TRD offroad 3.73 ring and pinions are garbage...

If you do 4.88's with ARB's front and rear I'd expect around $3500, maybe a little less.

I've only broke one on my 33's and that was because I was stupid. haha. I got myself high centered and to get my front tire to grab I had it at full droop and full turned and that caused the CV to bind and snap instantly... Other than that I have abused the hell out of them with no issues. There are a lot of guys on 35's with front lockers that haven't ever broken CV's. n0rth is on 36's with no breaks.

I'm in the market for the ST in this size but none of the Northwest warehouses for my Cooper dealers have them. All the Cooper dealers are pushing the ST Maxx. I'm looking for an AT tire and the KO and Toyo MT are too aggresive for my use. Seems like this size tire is getting rare and expensive.

I was also unable to find a local source for the 255 ST. I ordered my ST's from Tirecrawler.com they arrived quickly and in perfect shape. So far so good.

    Good luck.

I installed the Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator, my speedo is dead on now (according to GPS). Pretty easy to install, have to take apart the driver's dash but that's fairly easy. It cost about $200 but that's cheaper than a speeding ticket so totally worth it to me!

Depends on the specs on your wheels and how you drive your rig. If you wheels are the same specs are OEM and you never leave the pavement, then no you most likely won't have to trim anything and will probably only rub on occasion like take a sharp corner hard or hitting a bump hard.

If you wheel at all the tire will stuff right up to the same spot as it did when you had no lift so it will rub on a lot of stuff.

All in all, for a 33" tire, the 255's rub very little even at full stuff. I have only had to do minor trimming for the most part.

You're going to have to do some trimming then. haha Pretty sure you'll have to remove the mudflaps no matter what, but I'm not 100% on that.
