TBH... I do have them in my truck. However, I never turn them on and they are now piss poor in the snow because of all of the reflective light. Fogs with Drop in HIDs are much much worse than headlights with them. The problem is that there is no pattern with the fog lights, so it is all scatter! Sure, they have sort of a coolness factor look associated with them, but I can't recommend doing it. When I turn them on I honestly can not even tell if my headlights are on. Projectors do a damn good job of filling the ditches. I currently can't justify the cost of retrofitting my fogs as I am not even sure if they will provide enough output to be worth it. I am currently considering fitting in some sort of amber LED setup in the fog location.

I ran HID's in halogen housings in a vehicle years ago when I was younger and didn't give a shit. Never again though. I find most people that think they're not blinding other drivers really are. I thought my pattern wasn't scattered but I was still getting high beam flashed often. If I were to ever run an aftermarket HID kit in a vehicle it would be done with a projector retrofit.

You can get yellow fogs without going HID. I ran Noyka yellow bulbs for awhile and the output was pretty good. Only got rid of them just because i decided I didn't like the yellow look enough.

OP, I ran HID's w/o projectors before my retrofit.....

Compared to the scattered pile of horseshit my reflector housings shot out, the projectors even light beam is exponentially better

The fog lights themselves weren't meant for forward projection, but on a pickup the location of the fogs is plenty of height off the road to set the cutoff further down the road than even your main headlights (without blinding others) for greater depth as well as a smooth transition instead of a sharp cutoff

Im not a bad person or anything but my halogen housings in my truck work fine but I have not had anyone in front me crash because of my lights. I do however enjoy the people in front of me getting out of the lane while i'm behind them so it makes getting somewhere where at dusk/night a lot faster considering all the traffic gets outta my lane so say what you will but no one gets hurt my housing doesn't scatter the light and I get to places faster... works for me :notsure:

They are getting out of your way because you are blinding them in their review mirrors.

I know that. I was stating that its away to get them outa the way reguardless of how messed up it is I adjusted my headlights to point down pretty far and the line of the headlights goes up against most vehicles at the bumper but alot of cars are being blinded and its not my fault their so dam low. Also I loved lowered vehicles fyi. Edit By cars I mean these lowered ones seem to be low enough for the headlights to hit thier back window in the attached pic. There is a clear line from my headlights on the bumpers of the vehicle in front of me at 25 feet the way I adjusted my head lights.

yup I was guilty of this for 2 months when in got my 2013.

bought that ebay hid with hi and low beam to see if it will really blind other drivers or not. and to be honest ive only been flashed twice within that 2month period, but that was enough to convince me to do the right thing.

So im putting my stock bulbs tomorrow while I wait for my retrofit kit to arrive . (I ordered them two days ago from TRS)

BTW there is a group buy that cannot be beat. TRS is offering 25% off to TW members (that's about $75 off) for a full retro kit.

Better late than never. just my two cents. do the right thing before you cause an accident!

It's nothing personal towards you. If you were you, the president of the USA, God, my mom, I'd still call you a dick for that comment. Saying you enjoy people moving out of your way due to your shitty head lights is a dick move, period, end of story.

Do it right or don't do it at all.
