    Stacking racks upon racks on racks in racks.

    Red, Lyndall, and I think Mike (Delmarva) all have CB's as well as know how to set them up/tune them properly. I've been considering getting one myself.

    Get an SWR meter or borrow one. Tune your antenna.

    Make sure when grounding your mount, it is grounded to bare steel, not painted steel.

    I'm surprised not many of you guys have CB's. That's one of our first mods up in New England.

    What CB are you running, what antenna, and what mount? That way I can have a better idea on how to help you

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
    The S/RF meter is for reading the signal strength. when you key up,it shows what you're putting out and then when someone in your range starts talking on that certain channel,it measures the strength of their incoming signal.The higher their signal is on the meter,the closer they are to you.

    It appears you are transmitting and receiving... Is the speaker hooked up correctly?

    For starters, turn your RF gain down. That's what might cause your CB to overload.

    Also try toggling the ANL switch. That switch tends to cut out weaker signals.

    Now you said once the S/RF maxes out (red light) you have to restart the CB? That sounds like a fucked up CB unit to me.
