I knew I was in trouble when I saw my first snow in Memphis, TN after seeing two street workers shovling sand from the back of a Ford F350 onto the road at a major surface street intersection. I live near Oxford, Mississippi (I'm a transplant from the north) and we don't have much snow but, when it does it's worse here then it ever was "back home". We actually had a little over 12 inches around February of 2011 and it was cold for here so it stayed on the road because the county/state NEVER plowed or treated it.

Yeah they don’t know how to clean and take care of snow/ice covered roads down here! I’m close to knoxville. but my mom is from Buffalo and it’s a night and day difference in how they take care of the roads and how they do it down here. and half the store and crap shut down down here unlike up there they will have 2 or 3 feet of snow and still have school.

yeah back in ’09/’10 and ’10/’10 winters we had close to a foot a few times schools got closed a lot and the road i live on did not get plowed for a week, they stopped because they spend all the time on the main roads and not the back roads as much.

Everyone is taking his post wrong. I'd bet he did get fired. Having no job is a promotion to him because now he gets to spend 24/7/365 living on the beach

We got 3" here today  Good thing they brined last night :D

Weren't you complaining about them working and putting money into that, instead of help residents without power and whatnot? Now your glad its fixed? :notsure:

This is true. It was around -40 to -45 at my cabin one week.. to keep the beer cold all I had to do was put it inside beside the sliding glass door.
