I say keep feeding him and letting him sleep on the bed. I think he found you...do you have any other little buddies in the house? If so you have a great companion for "you" and them.

I think I'm in love with this dog lol. I came home from work this morning and he was waiting on me sitting on the couch. Everywhere I walk he walks behind me, when I stop he sits down beside me. Now I'm laying down ready to go to sleep and he's past out with his head on my stomach

I don't think pitbulls are bad, but they are dangerous. I live in the deep south and used to raise pits as hunters. we would never sell them as pets.
they are hot wired for ground and pound, thats just what they do. that doesn't make them mean, it makes them dangerous. they attack 100 - 300 pound wild hogs by grabbing their legs and necks and wont let go till pulled off. My great grandfather had a rural country bar and his bouncer was a pit named Butch. if my grandfather got any trouble out of a patron, Butch went for the throat. true story. He said they kept a broomhandle by the front door to pry Butch's mouth open once he had the roudy patrons under control.

You raise any dog to be mean and they'll be mean. Mine know that any type of dominant behavior is not ok and all humans are "friends". Pitts were bread as nanny dogs. It's in their DNA to love kids.

I will not allow them in my rent houses for ins. reasons. Just no need to worry about them or like breeds.

^thats ridiculous and one of the reasons I left Denver after 35 years. I have 4 fairly damaged dogs. Our Pittie is literally the only one that I trust with my kids, or anyone, he's the office dog that gets to roam free. Gotta keep my lab locked up in the office because he has a thing with kids... If that means anything

To be fair, why is it ridiculous? The man owns rental houses and has to worry about the potential of someone suing him, and him loosing everything he owns. While I don't condone any profiling, it is his right as a rental property owner to deny admittance to a renter with whatever dog may cause his insurance rates to go up. I love all dogs, remember that, but I also realize that rental property insurance is VERY high.

I think you nailed it with he profiling. Take it on a case by case basis. Dogs or no dogs. However, here in Austin, the onus is on the renter, not the rentee, if the owners dog chomps on someone. Yet, I could see the possibility in an apartment setting where the renter handed over the keys to someone who had a vicious dog...could possibly fall into the realm of negligence. If not I'd call it lost revenue based on profiling.

There are many, many cases where the property owner has been held liable for things such as animal attacks, or other injuries and problems. When you are a rental property owner, you don't want to take a risk. I have a rental property in Florida, and part of the rental agreement is no pets. NONE. Regardless of species or breed. I don't want to have to deal with ANY liability, or damage. I didn't have this on the first renter, and his dog tore up the carpets and doors and walls. The deposit was $1500. The damage was almost $3000. Out of my pocket expense there. Never again will I rent to someone with a pet. If I find a pet, it will be eviction time. Fortunately I am really good friends with the neighbor across the street and he says my current renter is a really good family. Been there 2 years now.

My parents have a lab, but it is very protective and on edge. I honestly do not trust it based on how it has snapped a few times in the past, although most of the time she is friendly. When I was younger, I remember trying to get her to do some things, and she would really snap. Especially at my dad who had a short temper.

However I do still think that pit bulls have a little streak in them. I see alot of people who own them so they look "tough", and there is so much media attention on pit bulls, I just find it hard to believe they are just like any other dogs.

Not the dogs its the owners in Fla..Ive been charged 3 times in my yard by lose pits. All 3 owners talked to the police & the dog catcher. Police have told them in Fla. I can & will kill the dogs next time they come in my yard. We have dogs so it will be hard to do but not going to live in fear in my yard...

My answer would be no... Like everyone on here has said it's on the owners shoulders how the Pitts turn out. The Pitts I've known are the sweetest most loving/loyal dogs ever. A friend if mine has one and it plays with their daughter. Like everything/everyone else as long as you treat them right they will be fine.
