Seriously, though, Jose Serrano has introduced legislation to repeal it every couple of years since the late 90's, I think. I remember talking about it in US Gov't class in high school.

Awesome! I'm jealous, what did you get? I was trying to sell my bike for one earlier this year (would still trade for the right deal).

 

I bought a 99 Suzuki DR350 in great condition, with only 5k miles on it.

Yeah, I don't think it saw much time in the dirt. I got for only $1,600

 

Mine had the metal sleeve. I used my air hammer to fold it and push it out

Congrats! They're a lot of fun (Bikes in general, dual sports in particular)
Get the hang of riding it off road before you take it on road, though. You should be able to work all the controls (blinker, horn, lights, etc) without looking at them before you ride anywhere that there'll be cars.

 

Mike, your BAMF sliders have are a 10degree slant, right? How do you like them as steps? Thinking of trading my N-fabs for a set of BAMF's. My wife is short, so she needs a step to get in.

 

I like them a lot and think they're very functional as steps but they are a bit on the high side. I used to have nerf bars and my wife always comments how much higher these are than the old bars (I think they're only a couple inches higher). I use them as a step getting in and out of the cab every time though.

 

x2 I use mine as a step all the time. My wife who on a good day is 5' tall (with the curly hair) doesn't even use them but my little guy (4 years old) thanked me when I put them back on after painting the frame.
