Did I ever say I was unhappy? What are you even doing in here besides starting trouble?

I replied with answers to every single one of your questions but you have yet to respond to mine. Keep deflecting all you want.

Nothing changes the fact the 1st gens have been recalled due to MAJOR manufacturing issues and I would bet my salary the 2nd gens will have the SAME EXACT issues. Hows that for quality when you continue to make the same mistakes over and over again hoping the outcome will change...... that is the definition of crazy not quality

I guess a trucks frame rusting out isn't a big issue though

No I was just referencing the OP starting this thread based on thinking about buying a FX4 and selling the Tacoma, nothing else. He posted a few pages later saying he was glad in keeping his Tacoma. That is all the thread was about and why he started it.

Not sure what I deflected but ask again and I'll be happy to be more thorough.

You keep forgetting that I never said anything about Tacomas being flawless. And I will repost what I said a few pages ago taken from my other post:

I am fully aware of the rust issue. My dad has a 2004 which I drove for a year, and the 1st gen section is why I first joined the site. Believe me I know all about the rust issue. Lucky me the 2004 (even being driven in Hawaii for 3 years) doesn't have any rust beyond what is normal. It has been down in the south for the latter part of its ownership since then. No issues. Is it a problem for people more up north...hell yes, but other vehicles rust too, though Toyotas was a bigger issue. Only other problem it has has is an O2 sensor needing replacement, nothing else. And just so you don't think I am "dodging the question" I will repeat it one more time: in no way shape or form do I hold Tacomas as a supreme flawless vehicle...just like any manmade product it has its flaws, yet I have had nothing but a great experience with mine, and YMMV. I acknowledge the issues you have had with yours, but personal experience doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way or has had the same problems by any means.

2nd gens have been reported by some individuals to have rust problems reminiscent of what the 1st gens began to have. Many owners have also reported vibrations, 4x4 actuators going to crap after so long of use, etc. I know that. I haven't had these issues, and if I do I will fix them and move on. I don't forsee any rust issues where I am at either.

And if it would make you happy, I'd be fine buying a Ford or other make. But just as Toyota, they also have their own personal issues just the same.
