I was inquiring on what can be done, simple. I didn't want to post the thread and the user in case it was shipped late. I'm not trying to give someone a bad name just in case they didn't ship when they said they did. I'll give it until next week and let everyone know. In the meantime i'll pm the mod and give him the username to make sure he doesn't try selling anything else for safe measures

It would be nice to know what you purchased, was it a large item that needed special packaging?

Heck, no matter where you live, delivery of stuff shouldn't take more than about 6, maybe 7 days tops, 2 to 4 days is more typical...

If he hasn't responded by now, notify PayPal, when they contact the seller, that usually gets answers, start the process NOW>...

PayPal's usual response is to freeze the funds in the seller's PayPal account, if they are still there, then give the seller a chance to defend his actions. This way it prevents someone from buying something, then wait until after shipped to ask for reimbursement from PayPal, and the seller gets screwed. PayPal will not instantly just give you a refund. There is an "investigation" period that is usually pretty fast.

Doesn't usually work like that. I ship directly from USPS, not PayPal, so shipping is only updated on PayPal if I manually put information in.

2 weeks since you paid isn't an extremely long time, because it can easily take over a week to get somewhere if there are any delays, one time, i tracked a package that I sent out, and somehow it stayed in jacksonville for like 4 days, also if you do get a refund, and the product does show up, u can always send the money back. the seller might be extremely busy, and not everybody gets their pm's to their emails, but I wouldn't hesitate filing a paypal claim until this is cleared up

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

on the contrary, 2 weeks is a LONG time in this day and age, add the fact there was no response to a PM (like, who doesn't check their email account at least a couple of times a week)...

Again, start the process with PayPal, I have dealt with deadbeats like this before, it is usually the PayPal kick in the ass that gets results......sit around and wait, the harder it gets, start it NOW...

Have you done business with this person in the past?
As a vendor I ship to Canada all the time using USPS, and they do not allow me to add a tracking #. If I add tracking to Canada, it ends at the border unless I use UPS or FedEx which is way too expensive. Anyway, most of my stuff I send to Canada takes 14 days or longer. I have actually seen it take over 30 days. I ended up shipping two to the same person and the second one got there first. So if they shipped USPS, i would not hesitate as a vendor to tell you to give it one more week.

If its UPS or FedEx then I would be concerned to the fact that once you create a shipping label you have a tracking number to give to the customers immediately. I would question the fact that you have waited two weeks for a tracking number if you used the above shippers.

    Good luck,
    S

why the hell does it matter?

the OP doesnt want to throw the seller under the bus because he is not sure if he did get scammed or not.

Not just vague on the person... he's vague on the size of the item he bought and when the seller stated the item was shipped and if the means of delivery was specified. There's a big difference in delivery times between shipping a cargo net in a flat rate box vs tube steps via FedEx ground. Also, if the seller was out of the CONUS or in a different country this would also increase the lead time.

I bought my tube steps from a TW member and he cheaped out on the shipping (ground) and it took a couple weeks to get from CA to MA. So it all depends... Devil's in the details and this whole thread has been lacking.

i'd say that's pretty rare, imo, lots of people want more pictures, locals want to see it in person
