I'll compromise and get 18" ORIs with pink polka dots and purple sprinkles on them. HA! :p

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
It ORI issue is being taken care of by them. They are fully aware of the issues with some of the struts that came out this year. Mine are being replaced as well and i didnt even have a problem with mine. Its the piston seal that way failing so they changed to the race seal they only use for race orders. For on road stabilty i would take my ORI's any day over coil overs.

It was kind of a toss up for me. As I liked the on-road stability and ease of adjustment of the ORIs, but the versatility and less fading characteristics of coilovers. I was leaning towards the ORIs because the complexity of tuning coilovers just seems mind-boggling.

I made the decision based on what Inchworm had to say -

While there might be mixed experiences as to if this is a legitimate concern, as someone in my position and level of experience, I'll take their word for it. Running 40s and turbo will likely push the drive train pretty hard and destroying something like that is the last thing I need on the trail.

Some more pics from the other day

^ Just checked the measurements again, it's more like ~51" between the C and the hood at full droop.

I wouldn't waste the money on 4.7s personally (and I didn't) for the Midwest, its more about wheel speed, since traction is non existent. 2.28's in a crawl box is plenty low.

Before my stock case got finicky last weekend I was taking it out of compound low on nearly every obstacle anyways.

All this talk about sprinkle reminded me of this:

Damn. I literally have no cash right now. I payed a few bills a couple months in advance. :anonymous:

Got some welding done on the front today. Beefed up the double shear so it's 1/2" now. I had some extra 1.5" x .5" wall DOM laying around So I built the platform thingababobber that the panhard and hydro assist will mount to. I would have bent some tube instead of using 1/4" plate but SOMEONE is borrowing my JD2

Looks good as usual. Upper link mount looks really tall but I know you are gonna dial it in and prolly trim off the rest. Only suggestion would be to gusset that bad boy if you end up using one of the upper holes.

    And who's got your jd2:eek:

Would hurt to add a gusset to that tower. Looks good though.

I have the tower completely boxed in on the other side below the braket holes, but will do on the gussets. Can't hurt haha.

I guess it looks tall but the highest position is at 10" from the axle center and clears the engine and engine mounts with room to spare.

I wonder if I'll be able to send mine back and have the race seals installed. I need to get problems sorted out before I install them in the truck.

They need to be ripped apart to do so. You would have to take them to a service center or the dealer you bought them from.
