Anything under 20g of aminos (way out of my budget) has been proven useless. Even did my own expirement at 15-20g a day and didnt do shit. Increased volume of training was there as well as clean/consistant diet. It makes sense on paper but what actually happens inside the body is questionable. I'm not a fan of segmental nutrition or training. Whole foods were made with mixed nutrients for a reason.....same as I think isolation training in general fails in comarison to compound moves with the body moving the way it was designed (compare a curl with a chin up?)

What kind of Aminos? I'm a HUGE believer in them. They're great to help rebuild, and repair muscle.

So say it's 10g worth of Aminos...add that the whole foods you just consumed earlier...how's that not helping? U won't feel anything, let alone notice anything (minor pump is possible)

But it can and does help...

Why don't you just use pre-workouts when you REALLY need them, rather than following a schedule? I only take one about 1-2 times a month and the effects are great...plus, a bottle lasts over a year. Any sort of pattern with that crap is going to cause you to build up a tolerance, so why not just take it when it's absolutely necessary? If you're that damn tired, just don't go workout.

No pre-workout shits, but I get protein farts like a mother fucker haha

my g/f is in nursing school and has been learning about aminos and were were talking about it this morning. I've always ragged on anything besides protein, a pre-workout, and creatine, but I'm gonna give aminos a whirl one time. I'm skeptical, but I'm gonna run a whole bottle and see what's up. Bro-science at it's finest.

I was taking the bulk unflavored amino from ON. Like I said it seems legit and would help with recovery and help build raw muscle (that's what I was experimenting with it for). By using the actual "building blocks" you'd think they work but I just wasn't seeing the results. I think you can't out trick the body. It knows how to take what it needs by breaking down food and distribute as needed. Instead we think we an separate specific ingredients to get that edge? Look at a multi vitamin.....whole fruits and veggies win hands down, better absorption and each nutrient helps the other to be assimilated.

Also, was reading at T-nation awhile ago that anything under 20g (that's equal to 1/2 chicken breast) won't do shit for building muscle......you'd need a substantial amount to even get anywhere. Just some some thoughts!

I agree that raw food trumps supplements, hands down. Multivitamins, along with 99% of the shit in GNC are a crock of shit. Just eat 2 fruits and 2 veggies a day, good sources of protein and carbs and save your fukn money.

yup. The only thing I supplement is protein, creatine, and the occasional bottle of fish oil for joints and bp. Everything else is taken care of via my bomb ass diet haha

Damn, thanks for all the replies. I don't normally take pre-workout as I don't THINK I need it, but seeing as I got some free samples I figured might as well try em.

Someone mentioned Assault is going to be banned = ?? They are still selling it on base here.. please explain. I know Craze got banned because of MAO inhibitors in it.

The C4 gave me pre-workout shits, and so did my creatine when I first started taking it.

I am not brand loyal but my protein, creatine, multi and fish oil are all ON brand. Have tried orange triad as they have joint support but cheaper to do it this way. I eat very clean, no soda, no processed shit, alcohol only once a month, and lift 4-5 days a week. Not sure how much of the supplements are actually helping but in past 7 weeks I have added ~100lbs to squat, 40 to bench and ~60 to deadlift. Probably just being consistent and disciplined diet.

Had a conversation with a guy at the gym a little bit ago about people leaving weights all over the place... he just walked out the door leaving a bar full of weights in the squat rack that he was doing shrugs with... SMH

Assault's not getting banned. It's WADA approved.

What were your numbers before this 7 week cycle, and what are they now? 100# on your squat is awesome but also suspect.

I love ON but On bcaa sucks man, i thought the same at first, i was like "man this BCAA is all buncha bull pucky!" cuz i was popping like 12 caps a day but felt nothing. but then i got a tub of Gaspari Aminolast, man do you feel it when you take double dose intra workout. it is expensive tho.

Pills are harder to break down...powder is absorbed at a much higher rate.

Bcaas aren't meant to give you an amped feeling. That's like saying, I ate 50g of chicken and I don't look big.... It's the underlaying factor that you're getting protein into your body to fuel muscle growth

Fact. Just easier to pop a couple of capsules and call it a day

I don't feel amped, i just don't feel as drained after a couple of hard sets.

Of course that is easier. However, when the option is there, and it provides more BCAA's per serving, and is absorbed better....there are no BCAA caps (that I'm aware of anyways) that will have a higher ratio to powder.

Maybe I mis-read, it was a few pages back and threw me off because I've only recently heard of MP brand.

    Before / After
    Bench 195 (235)
    Squat 225 (325)
    Deadlift 275 (~350)
I can probably do more with dead lift but form gets shitty. Not that impressive compared to some of the guys I lift with but I'm happy at the moment. Trying to hit 300 bench, and 400 for the others by Jan/Feb time frame.

All good. Ya there's a few that are getting or are going to be banned. MP products are good in the sense that they are created for professional and collegiate athletes so they follow the rules set out by WADA. Which if you compete is the set of rules most agencies follow.
