I have been seeing alot of these bull bumpers popping up everywhere on base.

Like IMO I think these are ugly it makes the truck look like its got a cleft chin or looks like a bulldog with an underbite.

Yet I know not to judge something by its looks. What is the purpose of these style bumpers? They don't look like they protect much. Most look like they are attached by rather weak mounting points. I feel like they won't protect much off road either.

What is your opinions on them and their purpose?

Ugly and they don't do a thing. It's just some bling for your truck.

    Correct term would be FUGLY

You're right. I've read it absolutely does more damage than protection.

Well if they were welded and stronger they might serve a better purpose but the biggest think i think is lights.. alot of my friends have them and they are mostly used for lights or looks.. to each their own..

I always thought mine was pretty sick looking (it was on my Tacoma when I bought it), but they don't take damage well at all and destroy your approach angle...

Ditto on hurting the approach angle.
They will be damaged by, and possibly cause damage to the truck, encountering objects that a stock truck would have cleared.

They look cool head-on, but from the side, they look kinda like Jay Leno's chin.

Ok just checking. My friend has one on his ram 2500. Before I talk shit to him I want to make sure they don't have a functional purpose.
