I understand that but when and if i get a older toyota chassis to build off of, how does the shop input my engine type. I remember them doing the inspection on my other 3 vehicles in the past and they had to tell the computer what engine the vehicle had. Is there a spot in the computer for those who swapped to a diesel?

I was originally going to find a buggy chassis and build off of that.

If its possible to make a diesel buggy from a yota and have the ability to drive it on the street from time to time then i may just do that.

Already have an approved budget from the wife so as long as i stick close to it then i should be fine.

That's the truth! Kase did a good job of helping me out of a spot or two on that late run Saturday night. I bailed out before they got silly and went for the level 4 trail in the pitch black though.

Just engage the locker under 5 mph, you can drive however fast you want to with. But unless you do the locker you'll be in 4 lo so you want be going to fast anyway.

Do you have to turn traction control off when you engage the locker?

Im just wondering thats all. It would make sense if you did.

    That and the Auto LSD

The one thing i wish i could turn off is ABS.

When you turn the locker on ALL the traction bullshit aids turn off automatically.

Also look up the ABS kill switch mod. It tricks the computer into thinking the locker is engaged when you flip the switch and you can do it in 2H and 4H

Ah ok. I dont have a locker but i disengage all of the safety crap every time i go out.

Once i buy some sliders i want to take the truck out and see what it can do in stock form. After that ill determine what mods will be done.

I still have a project planned that was approved by my wife so i may just hold off on modding the tacoma and build something bigger and badder once i have a garage to work in next month.

I don't remember what all I did. I honestly was button mashing. I will be doing the ABS mod though because I thought I broke something from the noise that came from around my feet.

I disconnect the pressure sensor from the master cylinder. I can spin tires for years and ATRAC doesn't warp my rotors that way!

Trust me im going to be doing the same thing most likely. She approved my budget but she didnt say when. Basically, things we need for our new house will come first.

So far since the idea of using a 4BT was put into my head im looking at craigslist to get an average price for an old yota.

Sadly getting an old jeep is cheaper (already has a front axle) since old yotas with front axles are more expensive and doing an SAS will eat into budget.

Yea im looking around. From what i see, most people are selling them in running condition. Since i plan to swap everything out i really could care less if it has an engine, tranny, or even a bed (im thinking truggy).

I have the concept now. Just need to get moved in and buy the initial chassis. Once i do that itll be all down hill (as far as the wallet is concerned lol)
