2014 LIMITED PACKAGE

Has anyone purchased a 2014 Limited yet? If so can you post a pic of your auto dim mirror? Even better if you could contact your dealer and find out what the Toyota part number for a replacement rearview mirror for your vehicle is.. and then post it that would be very helpful for us 2014 TRD buyers.

 

I have the 13 limited, and its the same as the 12 sport. home link and all the other buttons.

 

I think he is referring to the new 14s that don't come with an auto dimming mirror and they are supposed to. Go to your dealer (better yet give them a call) and tell them to go and literally check if it has one, even though the paper work says they do, some of them are coming without one. You could always tell them to put one in before you buy the truck..

 

BEWARE!! We just got ours. Don't have a pic handy, but here's the scoop: it is NOT what's shown in the brochure! It is autodim and does have homelink. Compass has been moved to the top right, and outdoor temp has been removed completely. There is no integrated backup monitor anymore since that's now down on the nav screen. Lack of outdoor temp has been driving my wife nuts!

 

Would it be possible for you to look at the connector on the mirror and tell us how many wires are in the connector? Just wondering if the wires are there for the temp sensor.

I've seen that thread as well but just wanted to see if the limited had the wires pre-installed. I don't know if the picture in that thread is from a limited, trd, or base.

 

I don't think that there is very many members(if at all) have a 14' Limited yet. From what I remember, not a lot of members got a 13' Limited. Majority were Sports, TRD OR and SR5 trims.

 

new guy question -- can the mirror with homelink be installed
on a truck that come without it? .. is the wiring already there?

 

That's something I think that is trying to be figured out as we speak.

 

Yes. The 2014's have the 2 wire plug up in the headliner which will run an auto dim/homelink mirror just like the ones that are in the limited. Or you can get one with those and the outside temp reading but the wire has to be ran from the temp sensor in your grill to the headliner. For an easy plug and play just go with the auto dim / homelink

The outdoor temperature is available via your Entune weather application. Your wife will need a smart phone and download the Entune application off the web. Then pair the phone with the truck via bluetooth. The weather application will also give you access to the local weather radar which can be handy as well. No matter where the truck is located, it will give you the local weather...

 

2014's with entune download weather info from HD Radio signals...I can't override it as the entune app doesn't communicate with 2014's AFAIK.

 

Get an external one. I put one in my highlander and it tells me what I need to know. 2 aaa cells, and a light button for the dark. Ran the wire under the dash and under the door gasket (pulled the gasket up, slipped the wire underneath with tape to protect wire; no drilling) and thru the fender wall near the air intake. Velcro attachment to dash. Works for me.

 

There is a vendor that sells the Gentex mirrors that have Compass, Temp, Homelink, and Back Display in various configurations. You might have to run a wire for a temp sensor, but it would solve your problems. And I believe Gentex makes the mirrors for Toyota.
