It was snowing in the mountains here this weekend. I strongly considered driving an hour one way to my parent's camp Saturday evening so I could light the wood stove and watch the snow fall on the pond, but I had a Halloween party I had to go to instead.

I hear ya. My cabin is up north close to Erie. They got a few inches of lake effect snow. I seriously thought about going, but had shit to do over the weekend. Oh well. I'm looking forward to it.

Yep. I like them in the snow. Last winter drove in some pretty slick slushy snow, and they did great. Slid a little here and there, but it was to be expected.

yeah. i drove in about 10” to 15” or so of powder back in mid/late jan close to buffalo since i was not in the city at all really, i did have to keep it in 4wd.(kinda hilly and they way they plow the roads.

I was staying at my uncles and they are next to a park, and i drove up the driveway/road to it and it was not plowed at all and is gravel under the snow could not hardly even tell there was a good 12” of snow on the ground.

Nice. I have yet to drive in anything "deep". Hoping to get a chance this winter.

Snow storm in october the other year. Trees still had leaves on them. 10" of the wet stuff really took its toll on the trees. Lots of towns were out of power for 10+ days. Neighbors tree couldn't hold the weight and fell into my drive way. My truck took a good hit off it. Aftermath picture:

    Ouch.
That must've been the Snowtober storm of 2011? We got around 10" at my house. No power for 3 days, so we made a snow pumpkin and a giant-ass snowball that three of us could comfortably stand on. I'll have to see if I can find the pictures tonight...

I'll have to dig up some pics from the 2013 Alberta flood... Surprised none of the other members have posted.

I manage a condo unit in downtown Calgary (ground-floor), and it was totally writen-off.

This was directly across the street...

PS - the water-level was up to the "Park At Your Own Risk" sign !

No, not my Tacoma... It was across the street from my condo.

Here's a taste of the devastation that Alberta endured this June.

    * BTW, the only fatality (in the City of Calgary) was my tenants' next-door neighbor...

Golf course on the Bow River, between Chaparral & Cranston.

My corner unit, waterline was 3/4 of the way up the patio door.

Water washed away 4+ feet of dirt in front of the patio, 2-3 feet between the buildings.

Existing grade was 4" below the edge of the concrete patio... Tacoma is lodged under the building across the street.

Sidewalk washed out, the house on the corner (2 doors down) got condemned.

Multiple trees uprooted, my condo building is behind the trees still standing.

    * and yes, that's me in the jeans & white tee...

Got like an eighth of an inch of snow the other day. Lol. First snow of the year here. Finally! I love snow. Fall and winter are my favorite. We're supposed to get 2 super storms in december this year though. Yay........

Crazy. As much as I love a little stormy chaos. Sad to see and hear about loss of life and property damage. Glad death toll wasn't higher.
Nice. Yeah same here with the seasons. I like nice days in the summer, but a nice cool fall day or a snowy ass winter day is hard to beat.

And my pics & 1 video don't really show the extent of the destruction...

It was much worse, but there's plenty of other vids & pics to be seen about it.

The SaddleDome lost a bunch of irreplaceable Calgary Flames memorabilia & pictures.

    :(
