I don't think the benefit of remaining stealth on the interstate, where a burglary or whatever is very unlikely to be occurring, outweighs the benefit of keeping hundreds of people safe. I can actually see very few reasons when endangering a busy interstate full of people during rush hour is necessary.

Even the most attentive drivers could easily be startled by a vehicle moving that fast, and cutting in front of them without signaling appropriately and with no lights. No clue how you guys can defend his or her actions. There is no need to blindly defend the actions of law enforcement, they're people too. I'm not saying that as some anarchist either, I used to work in law enforcement and still have many friends on board.

That's how I fixed my P0171 - easy to pull, was very dirty, three sprays from some contact cleaner later, fixed. The wires are kind of thin and have a very small solder contact, so be kind of gentle.

24 cops died so far in 2013 in motor vehicle and motor cycle related crashes...(not hit by cars)

The majority of people killed by police officers was by gunshot, not by vehicle crashes. Yet in teens alone, 3000 get killed annually in texting a driving incidents.

Your chances of being crashed into by or getting involved in a crash with a cop are severely less then getting hit and killed by a teen texting and driving or a DUI adult.

Personally, I can see both sides to that coin. There are instances where lights and sirens could be helpful and there's instances where they could be harmful and actually endanger more lives. People zing in and out of traffic w/o sirens all day long and rarely do these cause accidents. 9/10 it's the idiot changing lanes w/o looking or not paying attention to traffic sings and indicators for various reasons that cause accidents. Just because you can't envision a scenario other than a burglary where lights and sirens aren't needed doesn't mean it doesn't exist. What if there was an Amber alert in the area and a vehicle went past him that matches the description exactly and he was trying to catch up to get plate info. Would you rather he goes lights and sirens, it IS the car they're after with a child inside and the kidnapper decides to make a run for it since he sees the cherries way off in the distance? There are thousands if not millions of scenarios where this could be the most prudent act to take.

If you still think they should run around lights & sirens all the time file a complaint if you feel that strongly about it. Posting on internet forums does nothing.

Nice I hope it's that easy. It was an easy fix on my last runner. It did it but at a much higher mileage.

Over 10,000 for drunk driving related deaths. Why are we so fixated on the text messaging these days? You don't drink & drive on duty but you have a giant laptop in front of you that you email and text on and most LEOs text & email on their phones while on patrol too. Not trying to call you out, I'm just sick of the whole texting and driving ad campaign when it should be more about paying attention & driving regardless of what specifically is otherwise occupying your attention other than driving. It could just as easily be drinking coffee & driving or operating the radio and driving. Hell, how many accidents were caused back in the day due to someone flipping over their 8-track to FFWD to rewind the song they wanted to hear again on the other side? Just another sign of this take no responsibility generation blaming text messaging for being an idiot and being dangerous behind the wheel.

Example: I was on a code run to an injury crash, I was on I-25 southbound around 119...afternoon time on a Tuesday after the flooding. Wide open highway, traveling in the left lane...vehicle pulls to the left lane from center for no reason, not even to pass someone...quick thinking, quick driving and some brakes, I'm over on the shoulder instead of up his rear end...

Not bad man, how are you? I got a new teaching job that doesn't let me get on here very much, plus a new addition to the family that keeps me really busy too. So needless to say, I'm not on here much anymore.
