but that just messed up some aesthetics. you could still drive home just fine. not so much with a hole in your oil pan.

True, but I think it is pretty hard to hit your oil pan on the 2nd gens anyway. I have scratches all over my front diff and tcase though from not having skids. I pretty much got both my bumpers and all 4 skids in 1 swoop though.

And it was those aesthetics we were specifically trying to protect though. haha He has full skids already.

I didn't see a SAC'd 2nd gen in any of your pics? and how the hell did that guy bend his slider?!

I didn't take the pictures, and couldn't find any of it on the trails so far. he had some issues with his hub at one point. he ran the night run with us though, but we don't ahve any pictures from that.

I have a video clip of the slider bending hit, but it's on my personal computer, which is at my apartment without internet............
    I'll upload it soon though.

only picture i took of the solid axle:

So do any of you know why the owner of the green 1st gen has tiny baby sliders on such a built rig?

F that noise. I can run 80 in 4wd nice, smooth, and quiet.

And don't bother TTORA died right before TW took off. Ghost town now. But tons of good tech. Puts TW to shame.

he bought it from a guy out west with those already on it. he actually said that those were one of the biggest complaints he had with the truck and couldn't wait to build a better set. this was a shackedown run for the truck, so he was more worried about getting it wheelable for the trip, than rebuilding sliders that sit 3 feet off the ground.

i got the feeling it took the cheaper route on some of his parts. his sliders were 1'' or 1 1/4'' x .25'' wall box tube tiiiiiiiiny little things.

I gotcha. And I don't care if they are 6 feet off the ground, I want full length sliders! Good to hear he's replacing them soon. maybe some Derpwerx square tubes?

i know lol. cheap should be scratched out of the off road dictionary. do i even want to check out that page???

on another note, i still haven't installed your axle shims. went over to a friend's to do that along with some other stuff, and the damn u-bolts are siezed up. used plenty of heat and penetrant, and i still bent my 2' breaker bar

new u-bolts came in over the weekend though, so now i can just cut the old ones off.
