For anyone that is fascinated by science or space.

Any cool facts to share, news stories, just BS of the sort?

Thought it would be a cool idea for anybody on this site that actually cares about or is interested in space and science :D

    and fun fact:

if you took the most acidic acid in the history of ever, tetrofluoroantimonic acid,
an acid a quintillion times more acidic than battery acid,

and fucked with it by dropping something into it to watch it sizzle

    you'd die
    everyone around you would die
everyone in the room you're in would die
everyone around the room you're in would die

but it probably wouldnt happen because if brought out into open air, it would explode instantaneously.

also, nobody has this shit in real life

Wondering if anyone has seen the commercials for the upcoming space shuttle challenger TV movie. It has actor William Hurt playing as Feynman. I saw a clip of it and the guy has Feynman down pretty good.

Normally if you want to join two pieces of metal together, you use heat, or some sort of chemical process to do it. However, when metal is in a vacuum (like in space), two different pieces of metal will weld together with no other external force present

Footprints last forever on the surface of the moon. Because the moon does not have wind or water like the Earth, the footprints left by astronauts on its surface will remain unchanged for millions of years

The American flag on the moon is now solid white, due to radiation.

Anyone watch Wonders of the Universe with Brian Cox? Great show!
