O, and I usually get around 24-25 mpg highway doing ~67-70. I've gotten as low as ~18 averaging about 80mph when in a hurry. Combined (I keep track of miles driven/ gallons needed to fill at every fillup) i'm right around 20mpg.:p

    ^^This.
You also need a separate EZ Pass module for the bike; if you use the one for your truck you'll get an error message

Ah... I always thought that error was because of the placement, not because it was a truck pass on a motorcycle

You don't need the EZPass transponder at all. I got one years ago, when they first came to NH and no matter what I did it wouldn't read consistently. Put it in my tank bag, my jacket pocket, even mounted on my windscreen. So I complained, they told me with bikes I should just hold it up as I rode through- kidding me? I'm not taking my hands off the bars for that through the mayhem that can happen at the tolls. I kept complaining and finally someone told me don't worry about it, just go through the tolls and let it sort itself out- this is how they will now tell you how to handle motorcycles and ezpass if you call them. I often times will ride my bike from NH to North Carolina, West Virginia... dozens of tolls if I for some reason take 95 and never take my ezpass anymore. At least a dozen in NY and NJ alone. Cameras and computer takes care of everything, make sure your plate number is correct in their system.

Yep, different vehicle class. Again, the transponder is a lot less important than the plate being registered with EZpass. You can't just move the transponder from vehicle to vehicle. You know those weird blue lights that are at the booth? They make the computer see your plate. All the transponder does is makes it easier on the computer to find your account.

That's not necessarily true. I have moved the transponder from vehicle to vehicle and not had any issues. I've used my EZ Pass in rental cars and my wife's car and not had an issue. There's no way either vehicle's plate was registered with EZ Pass and they both went through just fine.

It will go thru but if it doesn't register and they check thru computer that is when there is an issue

    yeah...
The way that I found out was that I got an EZ pass for the truck and assumed I could use it on my bike too. I velcro'd it to the handlebars behind the speedometer (out of the way that way) and started running tolls. Got a letter after a week or two with a bunch of pictures of my bike running tolls, and a bill for like $200 (tolls plus fees). I called them up and got it sorted, so I didn't have to pay the fees, but I was moderately embarrassed.

There's no way either vehicle was in their computers though and it was just billed normally, no errors, no extra messages from EZ Pass, nothing. It was just as if I'd gone through with my truck. I know they tell customers that the EZ Pass needs to be on the registered vehicle but it does work just fine if it's moved to another vehicle. I'm sure if you moved it to a different class vehicle where the toll structure is different, then they might have an issue.

I love watching people holding them up to the windshield below the mirro while going through. I guess they don't understand that it's suggested to be placed there so your vision is not obstructed. Can't teach stupid.

Switched cars recently and the adhesive on the Velcro wasn't good anymore. Transponder is on the dash. Absolutely no issues with it being read.

The newer transponders are pretty small too.

I have one on my work truck which is owned by the company. I pay the expass seperatly.

When ever I go into a spare I take my transponder, I get the call expass for a few days, but I think it adds that new plate to the account.

I'd probably be one of those people, since I don't like having things stuck to my windshield.

Well you got lucky, which happens a lot especially with older toll stations. I have been on the phone with ezpass a bunch and now know exactly how their system works. Even had someone at the remote office in Hooksett explain it all to me when I was pissed my motorcycle wouldn't read. He said with the bike, don't use it and a lot of times the computer doesn't work quick enough to read the plate and you'll get a freebie. The system goes like this, your plate and transponder are read independently, they are both fail safes for each other because they don't always both read 100% of the time. Sometimes you'll go through with a car you don't have listed on your account and the camera doesn't get your plate in conjunction, but the transponder reads just fine- you made out ok, again, it happens often. But then if you go through and both the camera and the transponder read you will get an error and possibly (but not always) a violation. The bottom line is if your license plate isn't registered with the EZpass account you have, you can potentially get violations. The transponder is only a failsafe for the camera and doesn't over ride the camera at all. Trust me, I know!

You didn't have a problem cause your transponder worked. When they don't read due to whatever issue (bad battery) they go by the plate

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Armored Security Vehicle. They were issued to MPs.

The issue of this type of vehicle to the police should be a concern. Do they really need to create a domestic arsenal? IMO, no.

x2. It was pretty eye opening when the State Police shut down Boston looking for the bomber. I'm glad they cornered and caught the little fucker but was anyone actually aware that the state had that many pieces of equipment, and most of it looked pretty damn new!

No kidding, huh? Cat's out of the bag now, I'm surprised more people didn't latch onto that.
