    All depends on vascular damage, degree of comminution, and contamination. If he keeps it he's got a long ass road of repeat debridements flaps skin grafts and PICC lines. Once the bone dies in distal tibia and ankle not many options left. Not to mention chronic pain. Severely limited by available soft tissue coverage on lower extremities

    Debridement = either physical scrubbing of the dead skin off or they can do it chemically.

    PICC line is a like an IV except it's a central line that can stay in for much much longer than an IV and it dumps damn near straight into your heart.

    Chronic Pain = rest of your life and will never be fixed.

    Soft tissue coverage = The degree of stumpy you get called.
