November AZ Wheeling/Camping Trip

Yeah. We might go to a friends after I take the family trick or treating and feed them baked goods that Jackie made for them. I hate having a poor family as it seems I have to be the one to make sure their lives don't completely suck

 

I'm still building strength in my knees and the amount of squats that xfit requires is still too much for me. I was 386lbs just over 16 months ago and I'm now sitting at 255 lbs. I've worked my ass off (literally) to get where I am now. I need to change my routine het again and the trainer that helped me get to where I am now introduced me to Derrek who owns East Valley Krav Maga. I went in a few weeks ago to see the classes and meet the people. It's a cool place that doesn't allow douschbaggery. The prices are reasonable and it's not too far from where I live.

 

I did some Krav in Oki. You will love it man. Always cool dudes, just be prepared to get your ass whooped. Aint no sissy shit in Krav. Always good to hear success stories though man, good on you for doing what you are doing.

Not for me. I do high altitude training.

 

Haha, when you hit 12k or so thats high altitude. the Mtns in AZ dont affect me.

 

Thanks man! It's been a battle for sure but I'm better because of it. As for Krav, I know I'm going to love it. Level one is all about breaking holds and reversal and level 2 is striking. If I start in the next few weeks by this time next year I should be getting ready for level 3. My roommate is going to start with me so I'm waiting on him.

 

Showlow is at 6700. But up at sunrise around 11k and the hiking i will be doing at wolf creek will be higher. I think alberta peak is around 13k . Im not in as good of shape as you two but i can handle myself when fun is involved and of course being able to drink while working out is a plus

 

Aaaaand....done for the day! Time to relax on the couch and watch the back of my eye lids for a little while!

 

Whats the weather going to be like for this trip?

Probably going to get pretty chilly at night, more than likely mid 40's to low 40's. Should be mid 70's during the day

 

Yeah Krav is awesome. I had a hard time deciding on what to do. I got to the highest level of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program and became an instructor. I did some Krav, Jui Jitsu, muay thai, savat and a little bushido (got tired of 10 year old Japanese kids whooping my ass). Tried ninjitsu a few times but I cant do all those crazy back flips and shit. Capoeira is a good work out but not really a martial art. Its all super fun and you meet some great people. Its also good to start with someone especially if you know they wont flake.

 

And I got de chips!

 

I know, I was just giving you crap. Wheres the fun if no one is telling you that you are going hard enough? Yes......drinking helps.
