Could you imagine me trying to slowly crawl over rocks with 600hp. I have a feeling things wouldn't go well

Ya, I'm thinking a supercharged 4.0 V6 sounds like a lot better option.

In a perfect world I would buy a Trail teams stick shift FJ, and a trail edition 5th gen. And basically swap parts across until I have a manual 5th gen trail edition

looking to replace shocks and add spacer lift...I do not off road at all just like the height of a lift
just some quick opinions please...I never go off road just like the look of lifted trucks and 4runners...I have 155k miles on a 2001 4runner...shocks have never been replaced

I am thinking of going with the following set up

daystar 1.25" (possibly 2.5" but probably not) lift front and rear - $160
    http://www.autoanything.com/suspension-systems/61A2933A0A0.aspx

bilstein HD 4600 shock all around -$185
    http://www.autoanything.com/suspension-systems/61A5657A0A0.aspx

going to cost about $345, will probably try to install myself

any problems with going this route...

ride quality right now is terrible so anything will be an improvement...cost wise $350 is about all I would want to spend otherwise I will not lift...please any help or advice is appreciated within the parameters of a lift and new shocks for under $350...thanks.

If that's your budget, sounds good to me. Anything but rough country shocks. The spacer lift will be just fine.

Ok cool thanks...yeah unfortunately that is pretty much the budget...and mainly since it is just aesthetics and not for anything other than my regular 25 mile round trip daily commute...

is there a less expensive similar route to achieve what I am trying to do or is this pretty much barebones?

only other alternative I though of was:

    1. looks really similar...this 2.5" from fatbobs http://4x4.fatbobsgarage.com/toyota-4runner-25--front--rear-spacer-lift-kit-1996-2002-p2092.aspx and grab some front shocks...probably similar in price

Not even sure what branding of everything that is so...not really sure I would wan to go that route...thanks again for any advice...

if you never off road i would absolutely do a spacer lift - easier, cheaper and hell I still wheel the piss out of mine :D

Need a quick answer. Can I use Non-ABS rear axle shafts in my ABS housing?
